Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love the walk over from Woolacombe and the fab Sunday Lunch at The Kings Arms never disappoints. Roast beef and Yorkshire pudding; yum yum.

Pre-booked a Saturday evening slot for 6 of us. A super meal ; Would recommend the mussels and the belly pork starters , calamari unmemorable. The mains were 5 out of 6 good ; venison was excellent, hake, I was told, was very good as...was the curry but the belly pork main course was dry and totally underwhelming ( one to avoid ).More

We have tried to book before but was fully booked, so always make a reservation. It was such a lovely sight to see a village pub full of locals and weekend breakers. The meal was delicious, lamb and chicken with red cabbage which tasted like...'Christmas on a plate'. Can't praise this perfect find enough!More

Went for lunch with my family and dog. Always come here when I’m in the area. Ordered the pie, their pies are never disappointing. Proper pies with a bottom not just a top and crammed full of meat. All the food we ordered was lovely...and generous portions. Great value for money, excellent service.More

Our group dined their most evenings. The food was excellent. The Venison steak in a mushroom sauce with dauphinoise potatoes and fresh veg was excellent. As were the Mussels and homemade chicken pie. All of our group loved every meal. The staff and management were...helpfull and friendly. Cant wait to go back.More

This pub is amazing! I visited with a group of 11 and several people had dietary requirements which were easily catered for. We all agreed that the roast was the best we had ever had and the staff were friendly and accommodating and the pub...itself was cosy. Not having the normal nut roast as the veggie option for the roast was also well received. Would definitely recommend!More

This was a disappointing visit; too many "little" things amiss to ignore. (In My Opinion) The Landlord is very welcoming and cheery but dresses and presents himself "unsuitably" even for a country pub serving food. Neither he nor the table crew know too much about...the dishes on the menu. The pie was NOT shortcrust pastry. Portions are generous and I think better quality for smaller portions may pay off! Starters were the best part of theist.More

Lovely cosy pub/restaurant and easy free parking directly across the road. We took our labrador with us. Initially we were seated upstairs, which was next to the kitchen and quite loud and not much atmosphere. We asked if there were any tables downstairs and were...moved straight away to a cosy table downstairs. The main restaurant area is lovely and very busy but with a nice atmosphere. Lots of people with well behaved dogs, which was nice to see. The staff were friendly and attentive. THE FOOD: Well what can i say!? It was absolutely gorgeous. Easily the best roast dinner I've ever had and my husband had the vegetable Wellington and said exactly the same thing. Full of flavour with veggies and a Yorkshire pudding and accompanying cauliflower and broccoli cheese, and cabbage in separate dishes, plus meat and veggie gravy boats. We ordered pudding, and again, we were not disappointed, it was absolutely delicious! We would definitely rate it 10/10 and would book again in a heartbeat if we were ever this way again.More

We chose the Kings Arms for a family Sunday lunch whilst on holiday nearby in Croyde. It was excellent. Well cooked with interesting accompaniments, great value, and very pleasant hosts. It was so good we went back later in the week for dinner and were...equally impressed.More

The pub was very busy however the staff were friendly and all of our meals (7 of them) were excellent and were faultless. The service wasn’t the fastest but we didn’t mind as we could see how busy they were and the food was worth...the wait.More

We wanted a “posh” pub to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our daughter. The Kings Arms offered a mix of traditional pub meals such as trio of pork with mash to vegan meals. We enjoyed our first meal that much we went a second time....Can recommend the trio of pork that was cooked just right according to my husband, children’s rump steak which my daughter enjoyed with chips and peas and the vegan pancakes with peanut sauce and sesame. The pies are changed daily and the curries are changed daily as well. Ned’s chocolate brownie served with white chocolate and honeycomb ice cream was the best dessert. You do need to book as it is popular.More
