Asigrito is the best tavern in Chora of Folegandros. He have been going to this tavern for many years now and we always have the best experience. Everything we’ve had to eat was amazingly cooked. The people there are so friendly and accommodating. We absolutely...love it. If you are in Chora you HAVE to try it. You can’t go wrong with it. Best Greek food. Thank you guys so much, we will definitely be back.More

Average Greek cooked meals for an easy family lunch or dinner. Soutzoukakia with rice were really tasty and gemista also.

Great fir lunch or dinner. The restaurant is in a great location in the centre of Chora. We had the Greek salad, tomato and cucumber and Souvlaki with fries. The food was fresh, delicious and very good service. And for me best if all they...had local microbrewery Beer!More

Go to Araxe restaurant instead or even Mama's pita. Go to any one of the amazing restaurants of Folegandros Chora. In fact if desperate hunger strikes and all other options are full and your are contemplating this place, hold thought for a moment.....you may fair...better snacking on the many dried cat biscuits left out for the resident feline populaton than taking your chances on a hot unproductive wait at this shambles of a place. This restaurant was a terrible disappointment after 2 weeks of exceptional service and food elsewhere in Greece. We waited over 1 hour to be served starters which still did not arrive despite our polite enquiries to the waiting staff. Eventually we had no choice but to leave at 11pm still awaiting our orders.... Thankfully the trusty Araxe staff found time to rustle us up a late night feast.More

We visited this restaurant on our first afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed the flavors of the old world greek cooking. We had the Imam eggplant, Moussaka and Greek salad with local cheese. All dishes were the best we had on the island. Our second visit was...just as amazing.More

Most of the food we tried was great, especially the soutzoukakia. Nice location, not too busy but also central.

Some of the reviews are quite damming but actually makes you wonder the people who wrote them. The food here is authentic and cooked by the families who run the restaurant. It's not a commercial or fast food cafe, nor a gourmet restaurant. It's typical...Greek and absolutely tasty and homemade. Unpretentious, excellent food. The girl waitresses are non-stop and deserve some praise for their efforts. Under trees within a small town square with subtle music and the atmosphere of people strolling around the chora, it was perfect. The only reason we gave a 4 instead of a 5 was the lack of desserts on offer as I am a big dessert fan. But top marks on everything else. Highly recommend the dish of the islands matsata - pasta with a choice of meat in red sauce, Greek salad and the table next to us (Greeks!) Said the mousakka was superb.More

Hora is full of wonderful restaurants and we tried pretty much all of them. The food is good in almost all of them, but this one wasn't anything special and the service was verrrrrrry slow. Could be just unlucky. The setting is very nice, it's...on the first plaza if you're coming from the north side. Still, there are better options even on that plaza.More

The food in this restaurant it was the worst food I ever eat in the island. Four people ordered four different plates and we could not eat any of these, very bad quality of food. I am from Greece and I am sure that this...restaurant shame the Greek traditionally food. The service was medium. Don’t go there it’s not worth the money.More

We selected this restaurant since it was opposite one we were looking for that appeared closed. The setting is one of the many squares in the Chora - all of them charming. The menu is extensive but most of the options weren't available so we...felt choice was a bit limited. We had moussaka and chicken in tomato sauce which were both very good. Portions (as we've come to realise in Greece) were huge. Attentive service, good value for money.More

Like most of the restaurants in Chora, most seating is outside during good weather and this is no exception. Service was very pleasant and efficient, but the food was just ‘OK’. The Greek salad was nice but my moussaka was a bit bland. The stuffed...peppers were nicer and the spaghetti with red sauce was quite light on the sauce but not too bad.More

We ate dinner there one evening and we will never go back. The meat was over cooked, the fries were served cold, the calamaries were like rubber, the white wine was warm -- and the service was the worst... we were ignored for 30 minutes...after asking for the bill. Overall the worst restaurant experience of all our trips to Greece.More

Went here 3 nights for dinner in late September. The first night, the outside was full, so I went inside. NIce taverna, waiter gave good service, and the pork chops were very good. So was the house red wine. The next 2 nights, I decided...to go here again, and was not disappointed.More

From all the restaurants we tried in Folegandros, "To Asigrito" was unanimously classified to be the worst one. We passed by on our way to Pounta to see the sunset to reserve a table. The waiter (?)/ owner (?) looked a little puzzled but he...confirmed the reservation. Half an hour later, the restaurant was full, the person to whom we had spoken did not give a sign of recognising us and he pointed with a bored look and without a single word to a side-table squeezed between two others. We literally sat together with our neighbours in this extremely crowed place! Nevertheless, we decided to stay which proved to be a mistake given the indifferent welcome and the setting. The food was so disappointing, both starters and main dishes and it was hard to believe they had managed to burn and dry the meat at that point. They have to seriously reconsider how they run their business! And that applies to all levels!More
