Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My other half booked the Struy Inn for a birthday dinner while we were staying in Inverness. We knew the area having previously hiked in Glen Strathfarrar closeby, but I didn't appreciate what an incredible restaurant this was. From the warm welcome from Karen and...Jim, to the outstanding food, and the charm inside the Inn. this was a perfect evening. I had crab mornay and vension with a finish of ice cream - incredible flavours and the venison was cooked to perfection. Can't possibly recommend highly enough.More

Wow, what a fabulous evening at The Struy Inn. Always been closed in the winter months when we've stayed at Eagle Brea previously. Well worth the wait, every course was delicious and I don't think I can remember eating a better steak!! Not very often...you have the Chef coming out to talk to the guests plus Karen is the perfect host! What a team.More

Wow what a sensational meal! This has to be one of the best meals I’ve ever had, a warm welcome in very comfortable surroundings. We felt thoroughly spoilt. On our visit my wife had the lobster for her main and I had the venison, both...melted in your mouth. Be sure to pre book to avoid disappointmentMore

Our annual trip to Loch Ness this year is also highlighted by another visit to see Jim and Karen at the Struy inn. The food here is excellent and we always look forward to our visit. As always great food and a friendly atmosphere. I...stuck with my favourite and the same as I had last visit... The haggis wellington , an exceptional meal but this applies right across the Struy inn menu. The ale I chose with my meal this time was from Orkney brewery and was called 'Northern lights'. Another visit done , didn't see the monster but found a real gem in the Struy inn. Thankyou to Jim and Karen.More

We visited twice during our break to Eagle Brae. The food on both occasions was first rate. From Scallops to Halibut to Venison to fish and chips. All beautifully cooked and presented. Lovely hosts in Karen and Jim. We thoroughly enjoyed your food, your company...and your tips on where to visit oh and meeting your dogs. :) Till next timeMore

What a wonderful find! A real family run pub where we received a very warm welcome and lots of lovely home cooked food. We both had the steak which was cooked perfectly, followed by a delicious chocolate fondant. Very hearty portions, perfect for after a...day's hike! Definitely recommend this pub for a warm and inviting evening.More

A very warm welcome and an amazing dining experience at the Struy Inn last night. Particular highlights included the Orkney crab mornay, the steak, haddock and fries, duck and of course the chocolate fondant. All superb and great that their prices had been held down,...without reducing quality or portion sizes, despite the level of inflation over the last year.More

My wife and I spent our Anniversary here, we had a great time. There are only 5 tables and a bar at this quaint, old but well maintained rustic inn. The service was excellent and the owners were extremely attentive! The food was well prepared,...fresh and cooked to order. When we return to Eagle Brea, we will certainly be back here.More

We have eaten here on quite a few occasions whilst staying at Eagle Brae, it us only about ten minutes in the car from our great accommodation. My husband and daughter in law had dinner here whilst I stayed with grandchildren, and had the most...delicious meal. The lobster was outstanding, also the scallops starter. The sticky toffee pudding is to die for. I wish I could have joined them, The style of food is, I believe, that which most people appreciate, wonderful local products cooked very traditionally and full of flavour, with delightful sauces rather than mysterious foams which liquidise on your plate. Jim and Karen are exceptional hosts , so very friendly. If you are in the area do try this exceptional little inn, you won’t be disappointed.More

Booked a table for three as celebrating a birthday, food is excellent and tasty freshly cooked to order so may have to wait a short while. All food is sourced locally where possible. Karen and Jim our hosts were very friendly and asked if we...had any allergies, explained what was available on the menu. Had a lovely three course meal with wine and beer from Scottish brewers. As this is a small place with only six tables the atmosphere felt very cosy and welcoming. Definitely well worth the visit and will look to go back again.More

Not sure. Better phone to ask. They have a good car park with plenty of trees to provide shade and lots of space to walk dogs but I'm not sure they are allowed in the Inn.
