dirty, poorly maintained. The electricity to one half of the disability access cabin was not working, checked circuit board and it is clearly marked 'faulty'. Felt very sorry for the staff who had to deal with our complaints as the manager couldn't be bothered.

We had a flying one day trip to Kangaroo Island. We has been on a cruise ship so limited time. But this was a beautiful place and the young German couple in charge ensured that we had lovely cake and hot coffee. Would love to come back to Kangaroo Island and base ourselves in these cottages. So much to see... More

We enjoyed the coffee and the native currant jam on scones, but the service was ordinary. Only one person trying to run the show which meant a considerable wait and perfunctory service.

We stopped in here on our way to Vivonne Bay from Emu bay. The staff are lovely and the food was good. We also had an espresso and iced coffee which were delicious. A good coffee goes a long way on long drives! We also saw our first wild koala here. It was a beautiful experience.

We decided to try this little spot for a late breakfast one morning, and we weren't disappointed. Friendly service, good food and reasonable prices (not to mention fine coffee) would have us go back again. Definitely put this one on your radar.

we stopped here for a coffee and ended up with coffee, cakes and scones. Coffee was good, so was the rest. It was calm so we had a chat with the british guy running the place. Quite nice.] Nothing fancy, just good

Travelling to the Kelly Hill caves we stopped here for lunch. Not expecting much it was a lovely experience - service was great and our BLT were way beyond our expectations. We even got to see a Koala on our way out!

The cafe has reasonable choice and is comfortable inside and outside in most weather. Desert came before toasted sandwiches, giving us ten minutes of wondering if our order had been muddled up but on arrival it was plain but enjoyable.

Located just by the turn off to Seal Bay, this cafe has a lovely setting with both indoor and outdoor options. We had morning coffee and cake but they do a large range of food to suit all tastes. Look out for the wild koala in one of the trees by the car park!

Great place to sit and have a drink, but we had lunch and that wasn't so great. Very small portions, chips cold and undercooked, avo and feta smash but we had to ask for the feta. Hope they improve

Thank Frederik V

*Under New Ownership in 2015* Seal Bay Cafe is conveniently located in the middle of the Kangaroo Island tourist route on the South Coast Road, opposite the turn-off to the world famous Seal Bay Conservation Park. Guests order food in the quaint and historical Cottage which was Kangaroo Island's first Post Office, built in 1878. On warm days, guests can enjoy a peaceful outdoor eating experience, overlooking a rolling green lawn, and 35 acres of farmlands, native gums, and sometimes even a koala or two. In winter, the inside of the cafe is cosy with a warm fire and gentle background music. Seal Bay Cottages offers a simple menu including traditional "Aussie food" - fish and chips, gourmet burgers, salad, as well as Devonshire tea with scones and a range of light meals (hamburgers, hot dogs, meat pies, sausage rolls) for tourists on the go. Stay for a few minutes or a few hours and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere, historic setting and convenient location.
