My sister & I booked an overnight stay at the above hotel. Text’s & emails sent, I advised hotel to expect us at 4pm. On arrival there was no sign of life on the premises - no lighting, only locked doors. A passing neighbour offered...to contact the proprietor, telling him guests were waiting. We were advised he would be with us soonest. We stood a total of 45 minutes in very cold, windy conditions. At that point we left the hotel grounds. The whole situation was chaotic and upset ours & family plans. Now more than ever, in these days of hospitality hardship, we expected a courteous welcome yet we got a locked front door! No guests welcome here! Not only has the establishment missed out on an overnight booking it also missed having 6 family members for dinner. We are seasoned travellers and would say we’ve perhaps “seen it all” but we have never arrived to a locked door of a hotel where we were expected!! Do not expect customer service/satisfaction at the Station Hotel, Insch! I regret having to give one star - IT IS NOT DUE!More

We had a lovely evening meal with friends. The roast dinners were delicious. We then stayed overnight. The room was newly refurbished and the shower was amazing. The cooked breakfast was perfect. Jackie & Colin are very welcoming hosts. I can only use one hand...therefore all my food has to be cut up in the kitchen. This was no problem for them. We will definitely be coming to stay again as this very central for a lot in the area. It's right next to the train station for a day trip to InvernessMore

Colin and Jackie are very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are modern and well equipped with plenty of space. At breakfast had good choice of continental or cooked breakfast. Enjoyed being able to have our own lounge area with TV in the evening.... Plenty of space in restaurant for covid spacing. well cared for at a funeral teaMore

Moved to the Insch area several months ago and today was the first visit to The Station Hotel. Was booked for my son for Fathers Day, The venue was beautifully decorated and clean. Staff were very pleasant and did not overly interact. The Fathers Day...menu was great, Prawn Starter, Roast Beef / Burger / All Day Breakfast Mains as well as Sticky Toffee Pudding Desert were all well presented, hot and delicious according to rest of the family. Free Fathers Pint of Tennants was well chilled and well poured in the bottom etched glass ensuring effervescence throughout. We will be back as soon as practical. Only shame is that due to Covid the footfall to the Station Hotel has fallen off so that currently only open at weekends. Hopefully this situation will improve soon and locals and visitors can enjoy the same experience we had today Great work team - keep it up and see you soonMore

We live in Insch and want to support this local buisness but the food is hugely overpriced for what you get. Iand a number of friends who also desperately want it to succeed feel that customers are paying restaraunt prices for average pub grub. We really like to support local businesses especially during these difficult times. So we took advantage of the take away service offered by the station hotel. The food was so disappointing, I really felt like none of it was homemade, and it was all out...of a freezer into a frier. I had a chicken burger expecting a home made chicken breast burger instead I was faced with a processed burger. My husband had the beef burger and it tasted the same. Frozen chips into the frier, and not even a side salad. Maybe this is enjoyed by some, but honestly don’t think it would be that much effort to make home made food! Good pub grub would be a welcome change to the village.More

Would highly recommend this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were excellent and room extremely clean and comfortable. The shower was the best from all the hotels that I’ve stayed in Would certainly go again, hopefully in the near future.

We had a takeaway tonight. The menu is varied and very good value. We had haddock which was massive and a portion of skinny fries which also came with a peas. My wife had the chicken fillets. Great family run restaurant and bar. Delicious food in a very welcoming environment due to the super friendly staff. Good drink selection in the bar too. Will definitely visit again!
