We often eat her and really enjoy there menu. As with other places at this time the menu is reduced but still good. We booked for Sunday lunch and it was very busy when we arrived .We had to get up and ask someone to come and take our drinks order as we had been waiting for a menu and drinks order for about 20 mins . As we ordered we were informed that all the roast dinners had sold out , a bit of a disappointment but hey ho lets try something else then. We had a chicken dish with rice , cannot remember what it was called but it was delicious and am glad that we had to change. We will be back and look forward to then getting back to a full menu. The staff do work really hard even though I have moaned this it was only a minor thing.

Absolutely fantastic....

I have been here before but it was my husbands first time, we were showed to a lovely table, the decor is really lovely, chairs really comfy and a really nice atmosphere. Staff are friendly and efficient. The menu is really nice with lots of good choices to suit everyone and great to have the drinks menu on the back. On a cold and blustery day I chose the steak & ale pie served with chips and peas, just absolutely scrummy! My husband chose the king burger and there was another clean plate. Good choices for children too and our son was happy with his meal. The puddings were too tempting and we chose a sticky toffee pudding, topped with pecans which was too good for words!!! A really enjoyable lunch, we will be back and highly recommend

The Place was packed - BUT IT WAS EXCELLENT

We are regulars to The White Horse Inn and there is a simple reason - it's always excellent. Today, Saturday, 4th January 2020 we arrive and got the last space in the car park and approached the entrance thinking, should we find somewhere else to have lunch, but we decided to see if they had a table. We were met by a very friendly member of staff who said 'would you like a table for two? and she pointed to table 11 and soon another member of staff took our drinks order and soon after our drinks appeared and another member of staff took our food order and it was apparent that even with a full house all the staff were extremely friendly, polite and very efficient and that we had the right choice to have lunch at the White Horse. After a short wait our food arrived. I had my lunchtime favourite, a veggie burger with chips and Kay had white bait with salad and chips. The food was excellent, and it is always noticeable that the kitchen staff are every bit as good as the front of house staff. The White Horse at Stoke Ash is so well run, and all the staff are brilliant, so there is never a weak link that so often causes a bad customer experience. I hope that other people find this honest review useful and that they visit and agree that the White Horse at Stoke Ash deserves its reputation and awards as an excellent place for food and drink. Lockdown Takeaway

We have had 2 takeaways, so far as I am sure there will be more! You call your order in and pay for it over the phone. You go to collect your food 20 minutes later. You ring when you are in the car park they bring your food out and place it on a table and you go and collect. The food is just as good as if you were eating it in the pub, there is even a slice of lemon and pot of tartar sauce ith your fish. I cannot fault it and it has now become a regular Friday night treat. Well done on adapting to the situation and still providing quality food with a smile.

Excellent lunch and no pressure to move

Four of us-old friends who had not metup for some months-met up here fo lunch in mid January. Unfortunately I had forgoten to mention when booking that one is in a wheelchair but despite the restaurant being almost full this was not a problem. We all chose diffenetly from the extensive menu and were all completely satisfied. It wasnice to see Red Mulleton the menu, a standard on the continent but increasingly rare in this country.. Portions were very generous and only two of us could manage a sweet. Not having met for a while we had a lot to talk about over coffee and despite the restaurant beingalmostempty we were under no pressure to leave, unlike in the establishment ofour previous meeting. I am sure we will return

Fantastic service, lovely food, great location, value for money!

I had the pleasure of eating at the White Horse this lunchtime. The restaurant is situated on the A140 between Ipswich and Norwich and is excellent as a half way meeting point. We were warmly greeted by Kelly and Jess. They were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them throughout our meal there. We were incredibly well looked after. We chose a light lunch of prawn baguettes which were delicious and very reasonably priced. All in all our experience could not have been better and I can recommend the restaurant without reservation. The decor and cleanliness throughout the building was also excellent. Kelly and Jess should be praised for the way they made our experience so special, thankyou, we’ll be back!

Good food, but could do better for vegetarians

Food was good; we had the macaroni cheese and veggie and egg burger, and both were better than expected BUT as vegetarians it's tricky to mark anywhere very highly when there are only two things you can eat on the menu. For health reasons I also have stomach pain when eating dairy so the brioche bun around the burger was pushing it for me. Otherwise I would've only had chips to eat. Service was great, and within the new restrictions they handled everything very well. We had a table outside, there was play facilities for kids that looked great, and ordering was fairly simple once we worked out dining in vs takeaway. Overall a nice find on a long journey.

Takeaway service

With the lockdown in place and being unable to eat out we decided to give their takeaway service a try. Well I have to say I was amazed at the quality and quantity of the Sunday lunch that we ordered for two today. It absolutely delicious and would thoroughly recommend this to everyone. Given the quality of the food and service we will certainly be using it again..... We’ll done!

Good breakfast

We had a viewing on our house this morning, so had to make ourselves scarce for a bit. The answer: breakfast out! Easy to find, oodles of parking. Good clear Covid procedure for ordering. A nice lady on service showed us to our table and asked us for drinks orders straight away, which was good! When breakfast arrived, it was excellent. Butter already on the toast is good - no messing about with buttery fingers trying to spread frozen butter, so please can more establishments do the same as here please.... Good quality sausage too. Very good, will be back.

An absolutely fabulous meal. The tuna was lovely the fish and chips were cooked perfectly. Serving East Coast IPA and local Aspall cider fantastic drinks also. Table service and politeness second to none

Fantastic food, highly recommended

Went with friends on Friday for a Christmas get together, had the festive menu, x3 course for £21.95 (great value) including coffee, mince pie and little bag of chocolate coins! Food was delicious and there were lots of choices, no skimping on portion sizes, it was very busy but staff were attentive and friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long. This has become our go to place to eat and meet friends because it’s always the same service, great food and good value. Looking forward to Christmas Day lunch!

Excellent Takeaway

Does what it says on the tin. Order, collect n 20 minutes. Someone came out within 2 minutes of my phone call to say I was in the car park and told me our meals were ready at the collection point. Had scampi and chips (came in a cardboard box so didn't get soggy) even included tartare sauce, and chicken in honey and mustard sauce with rice and veg, all in separate foil containers. Delicious.

Stoke Ash Takeaways feeds our family of 5 proper food

We are regular family of Stoke Ash since the new owners took over few years ago we have never had a bad meal. Menu is always has loads to offer, our three children always like a proper meal not the sausage, chicken nuggets etc. Stoke Ash never fails to disappoint them always provide half portions of the adult meals to please them. We will always support the pub with our friday night takeaways every week since the first lockdown its a fantastic place to go covid or non covid times. We look forward to coming back inside again when we can!

Swift and professional service

Swift and professional service with very good food. We’ve recently moved to Gislingham and during the lockdown have enjoyed a few takeaway meals from The White Horse. Firstly the ordering system is professional and the food has always been prepared quickly. We’ve tried the family chicken meal (large portions and wonderful chips) the ribs, homemade pies and vegetables. Last week we tried the burgers which were excellent. Desserts are lovely too and enormous portions of sticky toffee pudding and Baileys cheesecake have been a treat to eat in the comfort of our home.

Great value for money

We have often had lunch here but thought would try the sleepover special, bed, breakfast and evening meal all included for a bargain price, What value for money! The room was clean,roomy, and comfortable. The evening meal was up to £25.90p per person which was ample for a 3 course meal. All off the general menu, superbly cooked with generous portions. The staff were attentive, pleasant, without being overbearing. Full cooked breakfast the next morning with cereal, toast, fruit, light options available, with dietary requirements catered for. No faults whatsoever. From the number of people in the restaurant this was obviously a popular place. We shall definitely make use of this deal again.
