Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

WELL !!! I would like to tell you not to go as its not good BUT unfortunately I can't, this place is the hub of Runton, staff are hard working, friendly, customers, are friendly, drinks are a reasonable price and then we come to the Sunday lunch, the lunch was probably one of the best I have eaten in many a year, this is from a person who does not really like roast and will do anything to avoid it, but this roast was exceptional, hot, very hot, meat tender, vegetables plenty, service excellent, then we come to the sweet, very basic, Spotted Dick, Sticky Toffee pudding, need I say more, I had Sticky Toffee, with ice cream, you don't get one scoop you get 2. On a Sunday they had live music, playing modern music that everyone knew and sang along to dancing, the place was alive. This is a very traditional pub, no airs and graces, but fantastic. I would recommend booking if you want Sunday lunch, probably a week in advance, they appear to only have one sitting, which is staggered, thus producing the good service and excellent food

We have just enjoyed a very generous Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, which at £9.95 per head is astoundingly good value. The service was fast and friendly and the food hot and delicious. Just what was needed after a long walk along the Norfolk Coast Path.

On one very rare sunny May evening went to try out the new Thai menu with the odd beverage or two. Food was delicious, freshly cooked, good value and the beverages weren’t bad either! A very pleasant evening in the beer garden with friends, baby and dogs. It’s full of locals, just like a local pub should be.

Avoid! Complete rip off for what we paid for. Vegetables were brought to our table 5 minutes before the roast lamb, so were almost cold when the lamb arrived. The cutlery provided was dirty, so we had to ask for some clean ones. When it arrived, the amount of lamb on the plate was very poor, the roast potatoes and the yorkshire pudding was burnt, definately NOT worth the £12 we had already paid for it. The Landlady's attitude was very rude when we dared to complain about it. Unfortunately, we had had to pay for our meal up front, when we placed our order, so we had absolutely no comeback or apology at all for our extremely poor meal. As I said earlier, AVOID!

When you complained to me about your meal you had clean plates. Your complaint included that the vegetables had been brought out 10 minutes after your plates not 5 minutes before . The member of staff serving you commented to you that the vegetables had followed straight after your plates. If the meal had been inedible surely your plates would not be cleared or you would have complained to one of the several members of staff in the covered area rather than finishing your meal

Great pub grub with gluten free and veggie options. We had a lovely Sunday traditional roast. For the Gluten free person there was a gluten free Yorkshire pudding and gluten free gravy and GF syrup sponge. In most places he just gets no Yorkshire and the offer of ice cream for pudding so he was very happy. The staff were friendly and helpful. .

Tried the Thai food. Fantastic. Fresh cooked, flavoursome and great value. Tried the chicken spring rolls, vegetable spring rolls and pork toast starters- sooooo good. And 2 sweet and sour chicken and a massaman curry for mains ( not spicy ), ( opted for chips as not keen on rice) Can not fault the meals. Will definitely be back. Well done the Fishing Boat for thinking outside the box and trying something different.

Went here to try to get some food and a few drinks, waited a few minutes for someone to show us to a table as restrictions are in place. Young chap was very nice and said there was room in the snug at the back, well it was not a snug by any imagination, it was just a room at the back with no windows, a pool table and four picnic tables. Asked for a menu and he came back with two huge blackboards that had been outside the front door, he said we don't print off individual menus as we would have to throw them away after each use. The menu was not very good at all just burgers or sausage and chips or nuggets or faggots, No steak, chicken or pasta. We decided to go elsewhere to get some decent food.

Who I assumed to be the owner of this establishment, by the way she was speaking to staff, was an incredibly rude woman. I was clearly waiting to be served at my table all the staff were busy at this point and she walked pasted me three times and rolled her eyes when I tried to get her attention. Excellent and polite staff, just the owner who needs a better attitude towards her customers.

Visited this pub on Sunday for the Sunday lunch. Table of four and our small dog. Two had roast beef, one roast lamb and one vegetarian sheperds pie. Absolutely delicious food, plentiful portions, main, roast potato, yorkshire and swede, seperate veg bowl of cabbage, peas, carrots and broccoli. More than enough for a fabulous lunch. Finished with four puddings. Good selection of beer. Fabulous Sunday lunch.

Delightful and peaceful beer garden tucked away behind the pub, with lots of nooks beneath fig and pine trees. The house Fishing Boat Ale is very quaffable and excellent value, and there is an impressive range of gins. A great find.

What a refreshing change to find an untouched, real pub! Local for locals, with outsiders welcome. Lager and wine honestly priced, and there was evidence that they were £3.00 a pint for beers at one stage. These are a little more now, but not by much! Shame about the awful summer we are having, with rain, as the pub is small, and yet there is a big garden and beer terrace, so when we get some su, would be back here for drinks outside. Nice place. Local's must be happy to have it.

I am new to this, and have to say my first review was more out of anger and insult, as it was about The Crown, Sheringham and its rip off pricing, and alienating of locals. Nobody local can afford to drink there. It's an insult and an empty pub, to boot! This us a real local, with a pint of honest lager at £3.00, and that is what we locals want! Honest, fair pricing. The pub still makes a profit out of the pricing and more importantly, ordinary people can afford to go. Nice little pub, bit dated, and the garden needs a bit of care, but a real boozer, for locals! Well done.

The best pub in Norfolk, and possibly the western hemisphere. Food, 11/10, drinks 14/10, and Sunday afternoon and live band 27/10. A must. Thanks for a great Sunday. Love ya bye xx

Traditional pub serving good selection of beers. Sadly due to shortage of staff, food was only served on Sunday. The roast dinner was great, generous portions. All the staff were welcoming and friendly.
