Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love this pub, local place filled will sports groups, locals and friends but fast service and a good chat. Never had a bad time here. Always went for the garden in the summer for the secret garden but went lately since the skies turned dark...to try the inside a bit and a great atmosphere. The bar-staff rock and you never feel out of place.More

WELL !!! I would like to tell you not to go as its not good BUT unfortunately I can't, this place is the hub of Runton, staff are hard working, friendly, customers, are friendly, drinks are a reasonable price and then we come to the...Sunday lunch, the lunch was probably one of the best I have eaten in many a year, this is from a person who does not really like roast and will do anything to avoid it, but this roast was exceptional, hot, very hot, meat tender, vegetables plenty, service excellent, then we come to the sweet, very basic, Spotted Dick, Sticky Toffee pudding, need I say more, I had Sticky Toffee, with ice cream, you don't get one scoop you get 2. On a Sunday they had live music, playing modern music that everyone knew and sang along to dancing, the place was alive. This is a very traditional pub, no airs and graces, but fantastic. I would recommend booking if you want Sunday lunch, probably a week in advance, they appear to only have one sitting, which is staggered, thus producing the good service and excellent foodMore

Visited this pub on Sunday for the Sunday lunch. Table of four and our small dog. Two had roast beef, one roast lamb and one vegetarian sheperds pie. Absolutely delicious food, plentiful portions, main, roast potato, yorkshire and swede, seperate veg bowl of cabbage, peas,...carrots and broccoli. More than enough for a fabulous lunch. Finished with four puddings. Good selection of beer. Fabulous Sunday lunch.More

We’ve visited before during our holiday’s in the past, and nothing has changed, thank god. Great pub, excellent service, good beers and a wonderful shrub garden to sit in. We have another week in East Runton in July so look forward to visiting most days....Well done..More

The best pub in Norfolk, and possibly the western hemisphere. Food, 11/10, drinks 14/10, and Sunday afternoon and live band 27/10. A must. Thanks for a great Sunday. Love ya bye xx

I am new to this, and have to say my first review was more out of anger and insult, as it was about The Crown, Sheringham and its rip off pricing, and alienating of locals. Nobody local can afford to drink there. It's an insult...and an empty pub, to boot! This us a real local, with a pint of honest lager at £3.00, and that is what we locals want! Honest, fair pricing. The pub still makes a profit out of the pricing and more importantly, ordinary people can afford to go. Nice little pub, bit dated, and the garden needs a bit of care, but a real boozer, for locals! Well done.More

Great pub grub with gluten free and veggie options. We had a lovely Sunday traditional roast. For the Gluten free person there was a gluten free Yorkshire pudding and gluten free gravy and GF syrup sponge. In most places he just gets no Yorkshire and...the offer of ice cream for pudding so he was very happy. The staff were friendly and helpful. .More

An honest, traditional pub, with charm and above all not part of some seedy, money making chain! Honest and fair pricing for locals and that's why we locals drink here and fit in! Keep up the good, local work! At £3.20 a pint, compared to...rip off Sheringham prices, this pub is where to find real locals!More

We were staying on the static site at the end of Beach Road so this lovely little pub was our ‘local’ (thanks to Sammy's being not too welcoming - saying they were closed despite other customers inside). Staff and customers at the pub were really...welcoming and friendly. We didn’t get to eat there but would do on another visit.More

We have just enjoyed a very generous Sunday lunch with all the trimmings, which at £9.95 per head is astoundingly good value. The service was fast and friendly and the food hot and delicious. Just what was needed after a long walk along the Norfolk...Coast Path.More

On a bit of a trip around Cromer and Sheringham, staying in Runton and came here for the first time on a sunny May day and sat outside. Garden is a bit tatty and a few quid and knowledge would sort that, but just nice...pricing with a pint of lager for £3.20 and glass of nice wine for not much more! Very local I imagine with a few of 'us' tourists and really fab value. Had a very nice and brilliant roast for around £7.More

We just popped in for a pint. You could not have got a nicer welcome. The Woodfoode's Nelson's Revenge was in excellent condition and we had a nice chat, not only with the lovely lady behind the bar, but people in the pub. A great...local, community pub pub and long may it live.More
