This cafe does superb meals and fabulous desserts. The prices are reasonable and the staff are first class. The scones and cakes are great value, take some home.

I got the fish and chips and the wife had a chicken meal. But I was disappointed as everything tasted of goose fat. Both fish and chips tasted of it, the wife didn't mind as she has roast potatoes like that. but it spoiled my meal completely as I hate it. but the place was quite busy so I'm sure it... A reasonable choice of mainly traditional good old-fashioned "meat and two veg" dishes. Portions were big enough to satisfy anyone's appetite and prices low enough to be affordable. Staff were helpful and generous with "seconds", eg topping up one's coffee cup at no further charge. Service times were very reasonable and most polite. The whole atmosphere was homely and gave... Overpriced food. Saucer of vegetable soup for £4.10 and a child's sandwich for £4.20. Disgusting food and sandwich. I'll never be back Miserable staff, hang your head in shame, we'll never be back.

Haversham's has been around for years, and has been a consistently good place to eat through several reincarnations (same family though i suspect?); great value, home-cooked food without frills, though it does do vegetarian options too. Great for a midday hungry meal, and great takeaway sandwiches. Pleasant atmosphere, good service, clean. Just makes you feel cosy to eat there :-)... More

We found this place as we were waiting for the Museum and Winter Garden to open, as it was Sunday they don't open till 2pm. The restaurant is like a step-back in time, in a very nice way, and is family run. Most of the customers were like us, slightly on the elderly side, but there were several families with... More

An old style cafe of the sort that exists in most towns when you look past the coffee shops etc. It's larger than you think when you enter because of a partition that seperates the front shop from the cafe. It's clientele is of the older variety, but it's good value, good service and friendly. Old style and without pretensions.
