Firstly,the good bits:the food was great and decent value.The menu is very limited and to be completely honest-it’s too limited…it needs a few extra mains as it’s a bit one dimensional.The decor and general vibe was great,too.
The service was a bit amateurish but you can get away with that at this kind of level…our server didn’t know what was on the menu or even how to pronounce some of it…but was pleasant and keen so it’s forgivable…there were a few things not available from the menu which is pretty disappointing with a very narrow menu choice as it is.The bit I really disliked was having to pay upfront for everything you order-guys,it’s not McDonalds!Its the first time I’ve come across this at a restaurant and it’s awkward and weird…even when I ordered a drink I had to get my card out and pay straight away…the owners really need to address this ASAP as you feel like they’re worried your going to run off without paying…really weird vibe from a relaxed kind of place.Very,very misguided procedure for a restaurant.
We’ll go back and give them another go…over time I hope they address the niggling issues otherwise I worry as to whether it will survive-the street food competition is strong in Bromsgrove with Ascotts/Banners etc.

Hi there,
thank you for your positive feedback regarding the food, service and decor. With regards to the ordering system it has been modelled on a digital format and can be new to some people but once its used a couple of times it provides a better experience. We are working with our provider to allow tables to pay at the end and hopefully that will be up and running in next four weeks.

Firstly, food was really good. Secondly, service was great and friendly. Nice go to somewhere child friendly.
Cannot give 5 stars as the pre pay system is non sensical. You have to pre pay the order fully at the start which means if u want more drinks or desserts later u have to pay again, separately each time. So we didn't bother and they lost out on a family having another round of drinks and desserts. That payment policy is great for the company but not for the customer, which doesn't sit all that well with me.
Will return, but they need to change the system to a normal restaurant service. They'll get more money.

Our till system was set up as order and pay at table which was pay as you go. From 13th Sept we will have an option of ordering and paying at the end, like traditional restaurants!

We had our first visit to Melt a few weeks ago and cannot wait to go back! The welcome was warm and the service was efficient and friendly. Drinks arrived quickly and we were then tasked with the challenge of choosing what we wanted from the menu. There were so many options that sounded great and we definitely ended up over ordering through fear of missing out. Between 4 we ordered 2 pizzas, the chicken burger, 2 topped fries, frickles and the crispy lamb shoulder and Texas twinkies. Absolutely everything was delicious but I especially enjoyed the twinkies and the spicy Santa maria pizza. Our friends have already returned since and had yet another fantastic meal at melt and we will be booking to come back very soon. Really recommend!

I was really looking forward to my first visit this evening but have come away ready knowing it was my last also. On arrival it looks great, nice branding/interior and the food looked very appetising. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point. We ordered promptly then waited, and waited, and waited... 50 minutes later, we got our order. 50 minutes for three sides and two pizzas in a pizza restaurant?! Did the food then save the day? Alas, it was a severe case of style over substance, the sides are basically all exactly the same, fried potato cubes with a protein on top (lamb shoulder, meatballs etc). The pizzas though were a real let down, average flavours and the crusts almost inedible. I noted on every single plate going back to the kitchen there was not one of the diners that had eaten the crusts and we left what amounted to approx 30-40% of our pizzas on the plate.
When the waitress cleared she never even checked why we had left so much and all the tables around us did exactly the same so it certainly wasn't just our preference.
If Pizza Express couldn't survive with it's established brand and frankly delicious pizzas, if Prezzo couldn't survive with a decent pasta range and also pretty good pizzas, how will MELT survive selling a product far below that which those two were offering. I fear that come the drizzle and gloom of November, this place will be another one going the same way as so many simply because they can't get the fundamentals correct. Pizza dough!

Ordered from here, got it home and all the food was cold and soggy. Also we ordered pork raclette fries Which are £8 a portion, they had dumped the cheese on top of the fries, didn’t melt it correctly and then put loads of marina sauce over the top which made everything really soggy and cold, looked nothing like the pictures online. It’s a real shame as we love street food and pizza but it was a massive disappointment. 😩

We had a wonderful afternoon at MELT with the kids and our friends in tow. Greeted with a smile and immediately felt welcome. Ordering app worked smoothly and quite appreciated the paying up front as meant we could leave as soon as we were done so not to keep the kids waiting. Bonus: kids eat free on a Sunday.
Atmosphere was relaxed but a nice buzz throughout. Toilets were clean and kids enjoyed seeing the kitchen staff at work.
Draught beer was perfectly served and ice cold, and the food!! Well the food was simply delicious!! Presented in a very modern way, perfect for sharing (if you are that way inclined)! The smoked chicken pizza, sticky duck pizza and Korean beef were simply to die for!
We will most certainly be back!

Really lovely atmosphere, clean and tidy and the wood fired oven looked amazing! Mariam was a fantastic server. The only downside I do have was starters took over 40 mins to arrive. I assume our order was missed. After they realised this they came over and apologised and had our food out pronto. Food was absolutely amazing and we ordered way too much and were able to take it away in a box. 241 cocktails were nice and made promptly. Definitely go again!

We went as table of five to celebrate our Daughter’s Birthday. I emailed them to let them know we were celebrating and to ask if we would be able to customise any of the menu items, but they never responded to the email. I didn’t think much to this but maybe I should have.
It was so cold in the restaurant, most of us left out coats on. We were seated and given menus but the qr code on the menu had ‘reached its limit for the month’?! We waited a long time for anyone to come and take our order, we eventually went and found someone. When the food did come out it was hot and fresh but the pizza was swimming in grease and some of the items were wrong. Presentation wasn’t great. The burgers are served in a bowl and the fries separately. It’s ok but miss having a plate.
Again, we had to venture off to find someone to take our dessert order. The desserts were nothing special and the ‘bad ass brownie’ was more like a cake and uninspiring.
Nothing was really awful about the meal, just none of it was particularly good either.
I really wanted to like it here, but due to the slow service, uncomfortably cold atmosphere and food that really needs a bit more effort with its presentation, I won’t be returning.
It’s a shame but there are better places to spend your cash.

Food is always generally pretty good, however speed of service is what lets this place down. On the three occasions i've dined here i've had to wait over 10 minutes for first drinks order and between 45-60 minutes for food. If they could sort this out I would definitely visit more regularly.

The pizza & garlic bread were absolutely delicious and we liked the atmosphere in the restaurant. The server was really friendly and helpful (he helped suggest which pizzas we might like as we weren’t familiar with some of the toppings). We’ll definitely be back.

Went on a Sunday evening, place was nicely busy given how quiet the high st was. Service is attentive and efficient, the added touch of having a flip card to say whether you would like servers to wear masks or not is a nice touch.
We had a beef and chicken burger, both were good, only criticism was the chicken burger being slightly overdone on the outside, and the thimble sized portion of coleslaw served with them, but food was very good overall. a great new option for Bromsgove and will def go again.

Very disappointed, made to pay straight away without anything being brought to the table, the wrong drinks were brought over and we were charged for what we asked,which were more expensive than what we were given. When asked for a refund I was told it had been sent but they could not provide proof of refund, was told it would take 10 days but has still not reached me after 2 weeks. Shame as food was good, but service was terrible.

This was our second visit, and sadly will be the last.
The starters were great (Pizza Rotolo) as was the beer, but the main courses weren’t.
The beef burger was ok, but average at best.
The chicken burger looked undercooked and had a huge lump of gristle in it that totally ruined my appetite.
The serving staff were very good and apologetic, offering a replacement and discount (way better than our first visit where the pizzas were good but the staff out of their depth) but “edible food” is a fairly low benchmark for a meal out.
Think I’ll stick with Ascotts and Ollie’s cafe in future.

We are sorry if the Burger did not meet our normal high standards. I believe our manager discussed this with you on the evening. As mentioned at the time we set ourselves a high bar and if it is sometimes not met on very busy Saturday nights, we are also disappointed. Which is why we comp'd your meal.

I would highly recommend Melt in Bromsgrove. The pizzas are absolutely brilliant! The staff are really friendly and obliging and the place itself has a great atmosphere. The prices are very reasonable and the food is expertly prepared and represents great value for money! Looking forward to our next visit very shortly.

We took an impromptu visit to MELT with our kids midweek. We didn’t book but the staff were brilliantly accommodating and seated us straight away. The waitress explained how the restaurant worked and how to order. Our waitress even gave us some advice on her favourite menu items.
We ordered quite a few things from the menu including the Smoked Chicken pizza (amazing), Korean Beef Raclette (even better) and a plate of Texas Twinkies (easily the best thing I’ve eaten in a while). The kids ordered kids Chicken Nuggets and Fries. As I’ve already hinted at the food was great and really reasonably priced. It was hot, fresh and arrived in good time.
As for drinks, my wife and I ordered virgin Mojito’s which were great and as we were sat near the bar we got to watch them being made.
We will definitely be visiting again (soon). Next time childless, but only because we want try the Cocktail menu properly. We had some serious FOMO from some of the cocktails we saw going out.
It’s great that Bromsgrove has added another really good restaurant to its growing list. Long may it continue.
