Visited St Helens and loved the Chips!

It was a nice restaurant and im so glad that there wasn't a whole lot of fans there as I didn't get my chips stolen this time, i thoroughly enjoyed my trip to St Helens, such a nice community! 😁 (I gave it a 4 star because the fries where not salty enough)

First time visit.Fish, Chips ,Onion and Mushroom Gravy and Spicy Curry(just to sample).All really lovely.Fish batter a bit thick and soggy but chips to die for.And of course,Washed down with a mandatory dose of Dandelion and Burdock which is a must with Fish and Chips.Would recommend.Will return.Staff also very friendly.

Sorry to say that my last few visits have been disappointing ,normaly gets a 10 out of 10.The quality of the food has been below it's normal high standards lately,time to change your potatoes the chips were greasy look warm and full of eye's and half of them wear grey inside.The fish was very dry not your normal standard Sorry but I will give you a miss for a month are so

Your new male staff need some lessons in customer services

As a regular customer for many years 3/4 times a week , It was always friendly staff that you could have a banter with, all the female staff have a smile on there face & was warm & welcoming . But since the new male staff arrive a while back the atmosphere has changed they are very arrogant & rude ,I have witnessed the new male staff belittle the female staff in front of the customer's, when the chippy is full of people, Since then I have to say I have stayed away and went elsewhere. It would of been a one star review only for so of the staff that would be unfair.

Disgusting customer service

Absolutely disgusting customer service. Asked for what I wanted was told had to have what was available picked something and then was given to someone else. Wouldn't make what I asked for as a customer. Sheer laziness and disgusting customers service with ignorant staff

Rude young girl

Omg I cannot believe the young girl this week. Speaks so rude to customers she must be maybe 14 and working in a chip shop. been going here for long time to get the wrong items in my bag. Kerry and other girls fancstic but wow this girl is unreal so rude

Management is ruining the place, won’t be long until it ruins the food as well.

I have been going here every week for years. Now looking for alternatives. The new manager is very arrogant and rude. Having witnessed his rude attitude to a customer on the phone, and his treatment of his young staff, I dread having him serve me. The other guy should crack a smile every once in a while, wouldn’t stop him being ignorant, but I don’t think I’d smile if I had to work with that manager. I’m assuming they are the reason that they are having a swift turnover of staff at the moment. Absolute shame. The girls that have been there for years are the only thing saving the place from being run to the ground. Always friendly and welcoming, though I doubt they’ll stay for much longer if he keeps treating them the way he is.

Excellent fish and chips

Found this just after lockdown. Have really struggled to find a good fish and chip shop since moving to St Helens and finally hit gold. The food is lovely, good portions and fresh food. The service is excellent as well and have found the staff friendly and nothing us too much trouble, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Very good fish and chips

Generally order by phone and everything ready when we go to collect. Excellent tasty fish with not too much batter. Batter is nice and crispy. Cheerful and friendly service. I would definitely recommend for a tasty fish super.

Flies on chips. Terrible

Thieves beware!

Thieves beware! Swapped my freshly withdrawn £10 note for a fake in front of my eyes then tried to pass me the fake one back. Loyal customer who comes every week mugged off so they could swap a note they obviously got from someone else back. Well done you've lost money in the long run. Come here at your own risk. Thieves.

Saturday chippy lunch

This chip shop has an award for healthy chips. The fish is freshly cooked. A small fish a large fish small chips and large chips was £10 . The portions are generous and the fish is good. There’s an extensive menu with Chinese and kebabs but the key is the freshness of the cooking. Nothing is lying around.

Ignorant staff member

Tried to buy a meal tonight for my family... seems you’ve more chance of being served if your a regular who knows this staff member. She totally ignored me when it was my turn in the queue and called 2 separate people forward from behind me. When I asked if she could take my order her reply was “ these are regulars, I know what they want” Bloody cheek... so anyway I walked out and made my way to the Crispy Cod where the staff and service was 100% Won’t ever return to the Tasty Corner...All customers are important not just the ones the greasy haired server knows.
