Delicious Sardinian food with very friendly & kind service. We enjoyed it so much we returned twice on our holiday. The pizzas & pastas were amazing. The waiter Giuseppe helped us enjoy this restaurant even more.

Absolutely unacceptable waiting time. The dishes were served loveless. Only after reminding the drinks were served. Secondi was provided after more than one hour and request of Check.

This restaurant situated on the SP 17 attached to the hotel has a round restaurant seating area with a vaulted ceiling. The melon and ham was excellent but we chose the Entrecôte Angus which was a big mistake! Must have been a very old tough...animal. Potatoes were very tasty with more flavour than we have tasted for a while, but did not make up for the tough steak. We have found that your need local knowledge of places to eat steak in and around Cagliari, unfortunately too late for this trip. There was a large TV screen in the dining room and the main attraction was the Cagliari vs Genoa game which was very entertaining and engaging football. Cagliari won 3.1 which pleased the locals. Next time we would try the pizzas as they looked excellent.More

We visited this on a Sunday evening and the large restaurant only had 2 tables taken but it soon became half full as the locals arrived for dinner. We started with Parma Ham and melon I followed with local Boar and my wife had the...swordfish. The portions were generous, the service great and local wines good value. A great place west of Cagliari to visit for local dishesMore

We were really happy with what we got. There were not many options on the menu and the waitress suggested what we should have. We had ravioli with spinach, fish, fried calamari, pasta with sausage. It was all sooo delicious! The local vine was so...good too! The waitress was very nice and helpful. The price of the luch was very reasonable! Thank you!More

I swear we were the only people eating dinner here and it was off season in Sardinia but it was nice that it was so quiet. The food was awesome and the waiter spoke good English - he recommended many things on the menu and...we loved the typical Sardinian desert with the lemon bread! We would love to come back one day and will recommend to anyone we know going to this area!More

Lunch for 2, two starters and two primi, wine and water was just €52. We had burrida (skate in a nuts sauce), octopus salad and then fregola with seafood and home made ravioli with sheep milk ricotta and spinach in tomato sauce. Everything was delicious...and the waiter was very friendly and attentive. Half a litre of sparkling vermentino hit the spot on a very hot day. They are not getting 5 stars because the outdoor space is on the main road, if there were some plants to better shelter the outdoor space it would be 5 stars.More

Lovely food on the two occasions we visited. Made even better by the advice of the staff who obviously care a great deal about what they serve.

We used to use this restaurant when we lived close by 27 years ago to enjoy typically Sardinian food, and to take friends there. It has maintained the same high standards over the intervening years and deserves it's 5 star score. The reason for the...consistency may be because the chief cook is the same, and it was a pleasure to be able to thank her in person. We were especially grateful that having been told my wife's favourite from years ago was not available (panne frattau) and on lamenting this, the waiter shot off and returned to tell us the cook would make it - now that's service! This is not a restaurant for typical Italian fare, and the pizza over hadn't been fired up, so don't go if you want anything other than great tasting, authentic Sardinian food. Here, you won't be disappointed - local cheese, ham, olives, smoked ricotta, fabulous melanzane, wild boar, the typical fresh sausage and desserts you won't find else where, such as sebadas, a ricotta filled pasta deep fried and served with honey. Sounds odd, tastes delicious! T he service was attentive, freindly, full of helpful advice but not intrusive. The local wine and beer were lovely as well. We paid under 130€ for 4, and left feeling full, as well as with very happy taste buds. We'll be back!More

We went here lured by the positive reviews, but i would suggest avoiding this Restaurant...at least on Saturdays. We arrived at 21:00 without a reservation and were happy they could find a place for us. Then it started a slow descend to hell. We asked...for the "salsiccia" and they said that they were saving the only ones left for the pasta dishes, which my gf then try to order...pity it could be ordered only for 2...i had then to change my dish so that we could order it together. I asked for the "ricotta affumicata" and they came back saying that they had left only pecorino sardo. I then skipped also this dish. Afterwards we tried to ask for dessert...and they said no desert was coming out of the kitchen. Definitely not recommended, to other tables they said other dishes were not available anymore...basically half of their already quite short menu was not available....and the few dishes left were kept for who had reserved. Not the way to run a restaurant, very disappointing, won't come back.More

My family and I happened upon Su Meriagu at the beginning of our vacation. We found the Sardinian specialties there absolutely amazing, and went back last night! Their antipasto dishes are exquisite, especially the smoky eggplant, and tangy courgettes. My personal favorite was the pane...fruttau. Oh my goodness, try this. It is Sardinian flatbread, soaked in broth, layered like eggplant parmigiana, with an egg on top. Sensational! The culargiones, (giant ravioli/pierogie) are equally amazing. We ordered these things both times and just about licked the plates clean. Not done with my rave, the meats! First, I had cinghiale, wild boar, in red wine reduction. Fabulous! This chef knows how to make reductions. The veal was also extremely delicious! One night, they had a special-veal polpettine. These were tiny veal meatballs in a buttery white wine reduction that tasted like my mom's veal spiedini! We cleaned the plate with the local bread, also notable! We found Su Meriagu reasonably priced, but outstanding! Too bad we aren't staying in Sardinia longer!More

Although the restaurant looks less appealing, the food here is delicious. Typical home made Sardinian food served with excellent service. We had a very enjoyable experience thanks to our waiter Giuseppe, whose service and recommendations were excellent.

Su Meriagu restaurant is a well established fine dining restaurant established in the 80s', luckily to see it still there I totally enjoyed our last night in town dinner with delicious local food, from culorgiones ravioli to wild-boar cooked in wine, sublime desserts and the...place is gorgeous on the seaside, no views but the restaurant is a typical sardinian style villa, it includes a hotel too, the staff speaks English, a must for food in Cagliari and Quartu in south Sardinia.More
