Four of us visited the Stags Head for Lunch today. We were greeted with a friendly smile, which reflected the attitude of all the staff that we met. We each had a different dish from the wide range of choices on the Main Menu and all enjoyed the food very much. The service was relaxed but efficient. If you are... More

Had a lovely Sunday Lunch with 4 of us all having something different. 2 people had the 3 meats which looked lovely, 1 had lamb and 1 had roast pork with gluten free gravy. Only 3 of us had a dessert which was a bit pricey at over £5 each but well worth it we felt. The strawberry cheesecake was... More

We were visiting nearby and booked Sunday lunch on spec. We had excellent food, well presented and served. The portion size was good and the surcharge for extra large was very reasonable. We wanted to go back for evening meals but circumstances precluded this until the last evening of our stay. The evening once again was excellent and the range... More

Visited the Stags Head with elderly, hard to please, relations. The young staff were very helpful and pleasant. The portions were good with plenty to choose from. Well worth driving off the main track to find.

Good beer, good food but very expensive for what you get. Service poor, roast beef dinner & had to ask for condiments & horseradish sauce, normal in most pubs.

Thank you for your comments about ur pub. I have to say that we are not expensive for what you get, although I am sorry you feel that way. Our Sunday lunches are £9.95, comparable with most places around us, and less expensive than some. We supply generous portions of top quality products, all freshly cooked and carved to order,... The Stags Head Inn is a delightful award winning thatched pub in the heart of Devon, we are situated in the hamlet of Filleigh, and just 3 miles from South Molton. We serve a large variety of tasty home cooked food at reasonable prices, and have a friendly team who aim to make our guests feel special. We also offer outside dining or drinking facilities, either in our pretty front garden, surrounded by flowers, or under the pergola overlooking a small lake where we have fish to feed, and our friendly ducks playing on the water. We aim to cater for all, large or small, and will create something that is not on the menu if we can.
