Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I always rate dining facilities relative to the price because it needs context and this was overall very good food, though I would have expected a bit more for the prices. The services was good , our waitress having a bit of difficulty with the...language, but a young man that came around later was very kind and helpful. Most of what we got was good, though not a lot stood out as excellent. The steak in port-cream sauce was cooked very nicely, but the sauce was very heavy and creamy though slightly wanting in flavor. My daughter has the specialty steak which seemed to have been prepared in a beer sauce which was nice though a bit sour. The pork wrapped in bacon was tasty but rather dry. The desserts were very good with so many options I wish we had had more room to try some other things.More

We had a lovely family lunch at this restaurant. Everything was delicious I would definitely recommend the frango na pucura with mash. Deserts are all very rich but worth getting A must go to restaurant when in Alcobaça

This restaurant is just of the large square in front of the impressive cathedral/monatery. Excellent place, great ambience, very nice staff and great food at a reasonable prize. What more can you wish for?

We showed up without a reservation and the hostess graciously fit us in to a table even though the place was busy. We quickly learned why. The food was wonderful. Dishes were freshly and uniquely prepared. Service was friendly and very attentive. It was also...an outstanding value considering the quality often the food. Apps, mains, sides and desserts for two for 60 Euros. I highly recommend.More

Very friendly staff. The food is very good. Wine too. I highly recommend, but it is best to book in advance. It is very nice to sit outside.

Beautiful and very welcoming space. The food was divine - sea bass and shrimp patties, spectacular! Not to mention the desserts - really, really good. It was super worth it! We want to come back, without a doubt.

Delectable food, both standard cuisine and specialities (I had partridge in a pot with a deliciously rich sauce and truffled creamed potatoes, my wife had Iberian pork with cooked fresh apple and port sauce). Service and everything else also top notch

Or, Perdiz, if you prefer-whatever you want to call it, get it for everyone at the table. It is unbelievably scrumptious. Served in a pot, gallons of savory sauce/gravy, and I promise you will run out of bread sopping it up. What a treat. The...deserts are legendary, service is excellent, don't go anywhere else.More

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Overall it was a good meal with good service and was very busy while we were there, but I can't say that it lived up to some of the reviews that I have read nor their Michelin star...rating. Don't get me wrong, it is a good place to go for a good traditional Portuguese meal, but don't expect more than this.More

Charming restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating on a narrow street. The staff and service were great. Get the sample board that allows you to have a little bit of every appetizer on the menu. I had grilled sardines to die for. They also have...a great wine selection. Enjoy!More

Visited this restaurant one mid week lunchtime in July and enjoyed a superb meal. We had a selection of starters (duck pate, assorted meats, cheese and tuna pate). For mains my partner had one of the specials of the day, porc, and I had cod...cakes accompanied by an amazing tomato rice. For pudding we had a fruit tart and a creme brulee. All delicious! We sat on one of the tables just outside of the restaurant and felt lucky to get any table as it was very crowded (we had not booked). Will make a point of returning.More
