Went here with my girlfriend. We both ordered menus and drinks. It was amazing! Best food we‘ve had on Malta. The owner made smalltalk with us and we found out the vegetables are homegrown!
We had the most amazing food and service at this restaurant on the Main Street in Mellieha. Just up the road from our hotel called Antonine Maritim. The owner Giuseppe and his staff are attentive, very friendly and made us so welcome. This is a...restaurant where you stay, relax and enjoy the food especially the choice of set menus.More
Totally recommending this place! Absolutely delicious food. The best sea food I have had in Malta. Perfect service, very nice atmosphere, friendly waiters (especially Nigel 😊). Thank you for a lovely evening! ❤️
If you are in Mellieha, Malta or nearby you MUST have dinner at L´amigo! The decor is modest, but the menu is outstanding. Everything is prepared with the best ingesdients and cooked with pride and tastefullness by the charming Chef, Joe, who will constantly check...in on his customers’ satisfaction and needs. Moreover, if you are lucky you will be served by Nigel, an English gentleman whos kindness and good humour is worth the visit by itself or Joe´s brother in law, Tony 'Anthony on Sundays`who´s an elderly gentleman with an irresistable subtle charm and charisma. If you stay a little longer one night you will learn that both Joe, Nigel and Tony have lots of interesting stories from all around the world, which they generously share with passion and wisdom. During our visits we have been through almost the entire menu card, and everything is cooked with love and precision. If we are to recommend one dish it must be their swordfish, and for dessert their Gateu Marie is not to be missed. We give our unrestricted recommandations to L´amigo and look forward to our next dinner at this unique restaurant. Uffe and Dorthea, DenmarkMore

For desert we had dates with ice cream...and Cake. Children had canelone pasta Aldo home made. This was the best food experience we had in a long timeMore
Great tasty domestic food. We had an incredible dinner with friends. Fish soup is one of the best I ever tried. Rabbit in sauce was delicious. Owner was so kind and funny. 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆
This was one of our favourite restaurants to visit in Mellieha. It was a lovely, family-run restaurant with an authentic Maltese menu and experience. It was very good value and we were surprised how cheap a good bottle of wine was compared to other places....We both had one of the set menus which gave plenty of choice for very reasonable prices. I enjoyed the pork whilst my partner was more adventurous and tried the rabbit. Both dishes were tasty and well cooked. I'd recommend the set menus to anyone dining here. This is not fine-dining and some may describe it as rustic, but this added to the charm of the place for us. The staff were very friendly and helpful and we felt very welcome here. We both agreed we'd dine here again. A lovely gem of a restaurant.More
Very good service and delicious food. The servant was really friendly. Me and my fiancee shared a maltese antipasto for the starter and I took the friedpan rabbit and my fiancee ate the risotto for maincourse, and It was really tasty.
If you wish to taste real, delicious Maltese cuisine and spend your evenings in an authentic, welcoming place - here it is! In addition to everything, you will enjoy the company of a Maltese family, conversations and just a wonderful time together! Don't forget about...dessert - they are divine, baked right here! Me and my mom spent a week in Malta, once we found this place we didn't change it and didn't experiment anymore. As a result, four unforgettable evenings! Thank You Tonini! Thank You Giuseppe! We loved Your company! Žanete un Līga. Latvia.More
We were staying in a hotel near the restaurant and were looking for a Maltese dinner. There was a choice and we picked this modest looking establishment. Picture attached. The menu looked ok and the prices low-average. Included a picture of the menu list. We...had the Maltese ante pasta, small pizza like starter with nice local toppings. Can recommend this. As mains we ordered Maltese rabbit and lamb. Both were tasty, and different as I would have had normally had lamb or rabbit/hare; we were looking for different! The meat was cooked as I would do stewing beef; lots of herbs and thick gravy type sauce. Tasty and assume cooked as it should be, but not my favourite. We had water to go with it. All very acceptable. Service was not what I expected. The likely 80 year old owner was running around as it was busy, but had difficulties coping with demand. His English was probably ok but I could not make it clear I wanted a small bottle of water extra and got a litre bottle. No problem. The female waiter slightly younger (?) had no English really. When I tried to ask about the food with pointing she could however tell me she didn’t have her glasses, and could not help. She didn’t seem to enjoy her job much, no smile or interaction. There was a younger non Maltese male waiter who be was fine and later I think the cook came to help tidying up. Overall not too bad as food was ok, but service could be better. Had to wait a wile to pay bill - they were busy, and when we left a €10 tip of €52 bill, there was no response from the elderly waiter. A pity. Thank you would be so easy. I left a bit dissatisfied, hope others have a more positive experience but I won’t go back there again.More
Very nice experience! The restaurant seems to be family run. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Great customer service. The food was really good as well. Me and my partner opted for Meny A and B. I had pasta while my boyfriend had the roast pork. Tasty...and good food. We were so full leaving the restaurant as the portions are big, maybe a little too big. Highly recommend trying the homemade Tiramisu, so good! After leaving the restaurant, one of the older gentleman working there came running after us because we had left something behind. That was so kind and thoughtful! All in all this was a very nice and welcoming restaurant with good food. Really recommend this restaurant, it’s definitely worth a visit!More

We would have loved to have loved this place, looks like it's ran within the family with different generations both serving and waiting on patrons. We had the 3 course menu : Goats cheese / Rabbit pasta Sword fish / Bragioli Apple pie /Gateau Marie...We both agreed the starters were the best part. The rest felt like it was straight out of the freezer. Sword fish and bragioli were both very dry. The set menu is quantity over quality, cannot fault the portion sizes. FYI the la valetta red wine tasted like port, not red wine.More
