I have been going to this place since 2000. It gets better by time. Food choices (Western - Indian - Indonesian), live music choices all at once with 3 different areas (country - pop - traditional gamelan), nice ambience and the cool weather. The duck dish is highly recommended (orange sauce or the traditional one). But then again everything else... More

Went here a couple of times upon recommendation from hotel concierge. They have 3 choices for seating within the restaurant which are traditional music, western music and no music below. They serve alcohol which might be important to some people since not all restaurants here do. The western section would play your typical Beatles, etc.

gadjah wong has 3 separate sections. we dined at the traditional indonesian area where there is live, subtle traditional music and singing. the garden like background and music was great for dining after a day of walking in hot, humid weather. although there is a short list of indonesian food, we had food from indonesia and italian. both are nicely... This is an extremely cosy restaurant. Since they have three separate rooms you can choose for either the live traditional central Indonesian music or other music. They have a wide range of styles such as classic Indonesian, Indian and European style dishes. I liked very much the Indonesian duck. The salad suffered from an overdose of sauce. A great plus... Quite a beautiful setting and ambience with nice traditional background live music. Price is relatively high for Jogja but okay compared to abroad. Food is okay

Read on TripAdvisor this was a very well rated place so it was our first port of call. We arrived admittedly Sunday night but when we arrived there was not one person to greet us. We must have been there for 8 minutes looking for staff. We were shown finally to a table the only guests. Odd. Menu was not... More

I came here for dinner every time when I accommodate my friend to travel in Yogyakarta. Very good food and service especially oxtail soup, my friend very like it. For me I like fri duck with yellow rice, very delicious.

I went here for dinner. I ordered the salmon as main course and the spicy indian soup as a starter. The soup was really good, and really spicy. The salmon was also really good, but the potatoes were rare inside. The prices of the restaurant are quitte high so I expected better food.

Thank D. T
