One of Wylam's 4 pubs, but not my first choice. It's brewery owned, so the tap selection is run-of-the-mill. The pub is nice enough, but shows its age. Does have sports on the TV though.
The service is quick, the people are friendly and the beer is well kept. Plus it's always spotlessly clean and there's complementary newspapers to help you read up a thirst. What more do you want from a local ? Anyway I like the place !!
We booked a table for 10 and it was entered for the wrong date. Every meal was below standard however two people ate theirs only because they were hungry. Staff friendly and did apologize but it spolit a family gathering
Good wholesome home cooking. Good and efficient service. Friendly staff. Relax atmosphere. Quizz on a Wednesday and teams are very welcoming for newcomers to join.

Nice friendly pub staff ... cosy pub .... food was pretty awful though... we waited quite a while for our food even though not a single other person was eating ( obvious warning sign) ... the hunters chicken had obviously been cooked the day before...More
Thank you for your feed back but are you sure you where in the right pub as don't and have never sold panini s and don't do all day breakfast either . Chicken is never cooked the day before always fresh hence the wait .
