Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We rang the pub and asked if they were still doing Sunday lunch as it was 2.00 they said yes and we booked a table. We arrived was sat in the main bar area next to another couple with a young girl, they asked if...we’d brought ear plugs and when I asked why the lady said you’ll find out. We ordered Sunday lunch at the bar and by the time I got back to my seat the dinners were already on the way to the table. It was plonked down and the girl left, 5 minutes later the veg arrived there was apparently 3 different veg, cabbage carrots and green beans, but they were all the same colour and tasted the same, I asked for some English mustard to go with my allegedly roast beef, it was more like pulled beef from a slow cooker. The mash tasted like powdered and the Yorkshire was like a cheap frozen one and was like shoe leather. The star of the show was the roast potatoes they were spot on . Then on the large table of drinkers next to us a young child was playing on his iPad game and the sound was turned up to full, it was an alarm type sound and I thought it was the fire alarm as did a few others and started to get up. The parents were oblivious and not interested when the lady on the next table asked for the iPad to be turned down. She said it had happened lots of times and asked each time the parents were too interested in their own conversation. So all in all the dinner and whole experience was dire.More

Such a great, homey atmosphere, awesome seasonal and local food, and the bartender was awesome and friendly, one of the highlights of our trip to the UK.

Lovely traditional Pub that offers a very varied menu. We had Doner Kebab and it was massive. The Fox Chips are lovely, possibly the best I’ve ever had. Good value grub.

We called in here with our two dogs for a Sunday roast. There’s a selection of roasts with plenty of sides and vegetables. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it.

Enormous portions. Had beef Sunday lunch. 2 Yorkshire puddings, roasties, buttery mash, green beans, carrots and cabbage with real beef gravy. Beef was melt in the mouth. Absolutely delicious but it beat us. I hate wasting food but we had no choice. The rest if...the menu looked amazing. Will definitely be back. Staff were really friendly too. It was £12.95 each which was well worth the money.More

Came here for the first time for lunch for a treat. Although the food was beautiful and the portion sizes were huge- faultless on that part. The service was awful! No warm greeting unless you are a regular. Lady behind the bar was so rude...and short. She was going to serve her regulars that came in after us, before us. Poor. Found her abrupt when asking what wines they did, not helpful. Won’t return for that reason.More

We wanted to celebrate a special day with our family so want to try this pub because everyone was really pleased with it. We finished our dinner and I wanted to try the special offer cocktail. The lady behind the bar had no idea what my...husband wanted to order so I ordered a pina colada. After 20 mins still nothing, they kept service the other customers and I asked for a refund. Not even an apology at all....we are not really going out people so this incident really ruined our dinner... We will not coming back again....More

We have been here a number of times for food, drinks and the evening quizzes. Food portions are huge and two could definitely share some of the meals. Nice setting with friendly service and quizzes are good fun although they start a little late.

Went for my sons birthday.our table was too close to the next table it felt like we were actually with the other table, menu on the table had brown sticky stuff on it which was probably gravy from the last customers , so I removed...it back to the bar, food was a long time coming even though it was a quieter night, my chicken korma was really nice but my son was not impressed with his chilli, I ordered lemon roulade for dessert but it had been cut that thin that when I added the cream the meringue evaluated to nothing and I was left with a plate of yellow cream not very enjoyable at all, so probably won’t return but might order korma as a take out .More

I'm sur you'll be able to book a table. Not sure what time they stop serving food. Last time we went we were waiting ages for our meals. It was very annoying.
