The ale may not be warm but the food is beyond Orwell's imaging... We had the Sunday Lunch and it was as good as other reviews promised

The food here is just amazingly delicious . We chose the roast lamb and the roast beef. It was superb. Top marks for high quality food expertly cooked. Best Sunday Roast anywhere.

So far we have only tried the great tapas outside bar and we pleasantly surprised - very unusual and quite exciting. Will have to go back to the main restaurant for a visit to the fantastic meals on offer

to be honest I can't remember seeing one (it was dark). Great pub for a casual drink and eats is at The Royal Oak, just north of Chilgrove. Great atmosphere, real country pub down a winding lane!
