A group of us visited the Spotted Dog on a Friday night. We had such a good time we stayed until late. We were made to feel so welcome and the selection of drinks was great and we really enjoyed trying some of the Gins...More

We felt at home as soon as we entered Coffee Dog and that was made more so by the very warm welcome we had from the lady serving coffee. The coffee was good and made to order. It also came with a small biscuit on...More

We had a Sunday Roast at The Potted Dog. The food was amazing, and they have local beers on tap. The Spotted Dog is an old pub, with a modern twist. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It is clearly a dog friendly pub, so...More

Great to see small pubs like this making their own food and not buying in pre prepared food. Nothing like homemade food. Small menu great food. Keep the good work up. Well done.

Very friendly and welcoming + nice place but no excuse for the very very slow food service, especially after response to an earlier comment - took over an hour to come (food was fairly basic and a pretty much empty pub). Order made and delivered...More

Only had drinks however the staff and locals very friendly. Comfortable and homely. Not the usual pub. Settees and easy chairs with coffee tables. Magazines, newspapers and books to read. Home to home without the washing up.

Thanks for your review, great that you feel its a homely place, just what we wanted to create - the wood burning stove kicks in soon to add to the atmosphere. Regards Tom & Claire

A nicely decorated and well maintained pub but staff were very stressed on the day we visited and not very friendly. The food took 35mins to arrive and was very average. The humus was dry and the pasta was bland.More

I am sorry you did not have a great experience at our pub. We were away at the time but I did pick this up with my manager on our return. I understand that we were, for various reasons, short on staff that day which...More

The pub has a great atmosphere, menu choice is good. But was put off booking or eating due to the image of one of the chefs in his uniform that looked like he had slept in it. What does this image say about your kitchen..........More

The pub has a unique front room style made up of re-used furniture from previous decades. Open for lunch 6 days a week including superb Sunday roast. A cafe is open in the morning offering dark Italian roast organic coffee and a tantalising selection of locally baked cakes and pastries. Great walks from the pub and dog/wellie boot friendly in the bar area.
