Stayed in Elterwater for one week and The Britannia was our local for the duration. Great atmosphere sadly lacking in so many modern pubs. We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal on our three visits. The menu caters perfectly for those who...More

Our gang of 7 had an excellent evening meal at the Britannia. The food was spot on and bearing in mind we were ordering 7 starters and 7 mains we had a pretty good spread of the options available. Some of our part had been...More

Hi there Tom C, Thank you for taking the time to write a review I would just like to point out a few inaccuracy's with your review. You are quite right we do not serve food between 5pm and 6pm, this is well advertised on...More

We stumbled upon the Inn whilst staying at the Langdale Hotel and it seemed very popular with lots of people sitting outside. They serve great ales and would recommend the Britannia Gold. Food was exceptional, especially the lamb rump - it was delicious. I would...More

Visited this weekend - absolutely loved! Really friendly staff - hearty food and good choices. Great weather meant we were able to enjoy the lovely gardens.. An ace spot to enjoy a rest when exploring the local area

One of my favourite pubs in the Lakes, great food and a fine selection of ales. Beautiful old pub in an excellent location, provides an ideal stop for a walk along the Cumbria Way from Skelwith Bridge.

Food here is much the same as when I left it a year ago - pretty standard pub fare. There was also clearly a bit of an effort to free up some tables, as food came out at alarming speed (clearly just reheated). Nothing particularly...More

Walked to Elterwater recently from Skelwith Bridge and as it was a lovely day sat outside with our dog in the sun and enjoyed a pint of local ale. Inside of pub brimming with character and would visit again.

They do allow dogs, but I think only in certain rooms. You would be best to contact them for details. I have only eaten there many times and they are dog friendly.
