I came to the tiny village of Cayton with my cats to go to a cottage close to the Farrier. I was walking on the road with a heavy case , bag and my cats in a pet stroller. I called the Farrier for directions....Two very kind young ladies who are members of staff at the Farrier came to help me. One of them is called Danni. They got me to the cottage and helped me inside safely. I would recommend the Farrier to anyone visiting Cayton.More

We stayed here for two nights for my husband’s birthday. I was unwell for some of the visit but the staff were so understanding and let us eat our meal the first night in the stables room. We took our staffy with us and he...was absolutely spoiled rotten he had lovely dog treats a dog bed and blanket and toys. The room was to die for and every last little detail was fantastic. The food and the atmosphere in the restaurant was outstanding,we did tell the chef about the food on the last night and complemented him. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff they were all wonderful. We shall definitely be back we are gutted they are booked for Christmas 2024 😞😞 Thank you again so much 💕💕More

We received a voucher for The Farrier as a present, and what a fantastic present it was. There are not enough superlatives to describe our experience. Team Farrier only deal in excellence starting when you walk in the door. They are friendly and cannot do...enough to make you welcome, a model that the service industry should use as a standard. We stayed the night, but we met friends for a meal, but I feel that being so positive about everything might get a little boring. The menu is not extensive but the taste and quality is. There is a choice on the menu to please everyone’s taste. The quality of the food and drinks far exceeds the expectations of a local inn. The only negative is that it is that good there is a temptation to over indulge. Our visit was a fantastic experience and one we will repeat, thank you team FarrierMore

My wife and I stayed here for a birthday treat . We have tried to book this accommodation on several occasions but has never been available which in itself is an indication of how good this venue is. With a warm welcome and friendly customer...service we were shown to our accommodation, The Old Stables. An upstairs room with beautiful decor and quality furniture and fittings of really good size with a huge free standing bath , a large sitting area with a settee and chair, dressing table , a large tv / unit with a fridge. Tea/ coffee facilities with a quality coffee machine. A large wardrobe and drawers for un packing leads to a huge bathroom /wet room with yet another bath and a walk-in shower. Rarely have we seen such quality furniture and fittings in any hotel and credit to the owners who have obviously put a lot of thought ( and money) into making their guests comfortable. We booked an evening meal in the Resteraunt and again the quality of the food and produce showed, three courses of really superb dining along with great customer service and attention to detail showed why this venue is always popular. If we want to be critical with two minor blips, parking can be a little tight, having said that one of the nights I couldn’t get a space the girl on reception told me to park in a disabled spot as they weren’t being occupied until a one came up, the other is : breakfast choice is simply perfect with again ample choice of outstanding produce and variety but the two mornings we came down the Raspberries on offer were found to be old and furry which was a little disappointing giving the fact that everything else had been near perfect. I’m sure this was a minor blip and would we stay again , most definitely. Very well done The Farrier and all the team , you have a fantastic venue and I’m sure will continue to get the plaudits you deserve . in a hotel roomMore

We can honestly say this is one of the nicest places we have ever stayed. The service was first class, all very polite, friendly and nothing too much trouble. The food was delicious, including the breakfast (we had to make room even though we were...still full up from our wonderful meal the night before!). The room was fantastic, extremely clean and well presented. We stayed here to celebrate our birthdays and couldn’t have chosen anywhere better. Great venue with excellent service and amazing food. We visited on a Sunday evening and was looking forward to a fillet steak but it wasn’t on the menu! Absolutely an amazing experience…. We had a booking for 4 Saturday night 28th October. At the main door a tall chap with the big smile very polite and very friendly asking us if we have a booking and if we would have some drinks first...up stairs. We decided to go to the table and he gave us the menu and explained everything. Few minutes later I asked a member of staff (lady )for the wine recommendation and she sent the same chap to me. I was really surprised to find out how knowledgeable he was about the wine and the process of making the wine. The food really really nice presented and tasty ( just my opinion the portions are to big). It was our first visit and definitely not the last. I am glad to see in this days a very clean restaurant, really good food and professional service I am not a Tripadvisor fan but something like that I need to “report”More
