About
Situated on the beautiful North Yorkshire Coast between Scarborough and Filey the village of Cayton is mentioned in the Domesday book as Caitune and there is no doubt that it existed many years prior 1066. Standing next to the 12th Century church in the heart of this village is the former ‘Smithy’ and ‘Inn’. For more than 200 years the former cottages on the corner of Church Lane and Main Street have been of service to locals and travellers alike with the resident blacksmith shoeing horses and offering hospitality. After an extensive 3 year renovation project our family have breathed life into this historic site and are proud to be able to open the doors to welcome guests once more. We believe the hospitality of an era long since gone combined with the unashamed luxury, modern conveniences and high end comforts required by today’s guests bring together a new standard of boutique experience to the area.

Wow what an amazing stay we had , from the moment we walked through the door the staff were amazing nothing was too much trouble. The atmosphere and social distancing were fantastic lots of handsanitising stations and the staff were all wearing masks and gloves we felt reassured that they were doing all they could to keep everyone safe. We stayed in the room Dream alliance and the decor in this room was beautiful , i can honestly say the bed was the comfiest bed i've ever slept in i can't wait to return. The food was delicious, well presented perfectly cooked with some brilliant twists i loved the haggis croquette, once again the waiting staff were polite , courteous and made us feel welcome. The cocktails were fantastic!. The whole stay was amazing we left feeling refreshed and relaxed. Well done to all at The Farrier , roll on our next visit.

Good Evening KerrieM463. Thank you so much for your enthusiastic, warm and genuine review that has brought about a fabulous to end a lovely September day (weather wise) on the North Yorkshire Coast. Your complimentary sentiments covered so many aspects of your time with us, and were so plentiful, I hardly know where to start. Please know that your appreciation, of what we have tried to offer, means the world to us and is exceedingly rewarding for everyone involved. Thank you for mentioning our Covid measures. It means a great deal, especially today, as the whole hospitality industry has been dealt yet another blow at the hands of Covid 19. As the new measures will only allow us to trade until 10 clock in the evening we are already beginning to see cancellations for rooms etc which fills me with great sadness when I see the joy a simple but luxurious and relaxing stay has brought to you. For us, and thousands of others in our sector, the estimated six month duration of this measure also puts into question the trade that we would hope to see during the Festive Season etc , not to mention the absence of the usual Christmas celebrations etc that so many people look forward to and enjoy. I hope you will forgive me for mentioning todays developments in my response to you, but to read your words, which clearly tell of the happy time you spent with us, and to now know that everything will be temporarily disrupted again makes me feel genuinely sad. That said, when I read your wonderful review, it's hard to stay sad when your kind words are so uplifting and positive. I do hope, that in the not too distant future, perhaps when the world is less ''strange', that we will indeed be able to welcome you for your next visit. Please know it will be our pleasure and thank you for making today a little brighter.

We have eaten at The Farrier a number of times, every time being lovely! The staff are really friendly and attentive and the food has been so nice on both the lunch and evening menu! A desert is a must, the presentation and taste are just amazing! The atmosphere and attention to detail in the interiors of the place are gorgeous. They will accommodate you where possible and large group bookings are also easy to organise there with the private dining area they have upstairs. I would recommend this place to anyone. What a treat the experience is!

Having not been able to get a table for our 20 wedding anniversary in June, (so book early!!!) We got a table for the new years eve special. Wow, is all I can say, well worth the wait, the staff where attentive and friendly, Kelly and Dani were lovely. The table was ours for the night. The food was amazing, each course was perfection, the sirloin Wellington melt in the mouth, topped off by the chef coming out to each table and creating fruit ice lollys for each person, oh and hand made chocolates!!!!The singer was brilliant. Wo uld highly recommend the farrier for any special occasion, also we often pop in for a drink to the bar upstairs on a weekend. Even the bar staff upstairs are brill, sorry didn't get his name, but when busy at bar he told us to take a seat and looked after us most of the night, even recommended drinks for us.

Hello there Bertie450. Happy 2020! Bless your cotton socks for leaving such a kind, complimentary and positively glowing review of your time with us on New Years Eve. Your review was so lovely, I now actually feel dreadful that we were unable to accommodate you on your 20th Wedding Anniversary (Many Congratulations!), and that I should apologise immediately ...so sorry, but thank you for being gracious enough to try again and offer the advice to 'book early' to others. I am over the moon that you enjoyed New Years Eve with us. As a venue it's quite difficult to present an offering knowing fully that everyone may have a different view of what a good New Years Eve should consist of, so to know that you enjoyed your time with us is music to our ears. We have had such a good verbal response from so many people but for you to have taken the time to detail your experience on our Trip Advisor page is very much appreciated. It was lovely to hear that you often pop by for a drink too and that you had enjoyed the service in the cocktail lounge. Thank you for mentioning this as it as it gives me the opportunity to mention that we are always happy to welcome people for drinks, cakes, coffees etc. The more the merrier. Please know your heart warming review has made our New Years Eve efforts feel exceedingly rewarding. I hope 2020 is kind to you and we will look forward to seeing you again soon.

This was my 4th visit to The Farrier and I already have another visit booked so I’m hoping I don’t regret it. As a large group I understand these tables can be more difficult to serve however the restaurant did not seem that busy and we had pre-ordered. First off the cocktail bar, this was nice however one of the bar staff kept rudely barging past us with not even a smile, an excuse me or a sorry. Granted we were slightly in the way but all the seats were full and there were not many places for 10 people to stand with drinks. Starter of potted salmon, I would not recommend. The layer of butter on top was so thick and in a very small mug meaning there was barely any salmon and that cost £9.75! Taste was just ok but for the price it was very poor. Main of chicken Kiev, it was alright but the chicken was a bit dry and there was no sign of any garlic butter, it was just stuffed with spinach. Again tasted ok but expected a LOT better. Veg came quite late which they did apologise for. Dessert of stickie toffee pudding was good they always do lovely desserts. Other points - very slow service, not keen to pop round to check on us, ask for more drinks, as if we’re ok, top up waters etc. (we asked 3 times for more water as there wasn’t enough in the jugs provided for all of us to even have 1 glass). Empty glasses didn’t get cleared for a LONG time, one waitress pushed the empty glasses out of the way with our vegetables and still left empty handed, we had to move them to another empty table in the end. It’s a real shame as I do think The Farrier could be lovely and I do keep going back hoping for better and will keep trying. We had a nice evening but that was mainly down to the company not the food. Hopefully they take reviews on board and try to improve.

Hello There laurenj333. Thank you very much indeed for making your 4th visit to The Farrier, with your 5th visit already booked. Taken at face value that would seem to be great news, but alas, you then write that you are already hoping you don’t regret it. Oh dear. Your review was a little confusing for us, in so much as, you felt that ‘the restaurant wasn’t that busy’ but then proceeded to detail how all the seats in the cocktail lounge were full. Also, I noticed that you have visited several other well regarded Scarborough restaurants, to whom you had then subsequently awarded 5 stars. I sincerely hope you won’t mind if I respectfully say that it had crossed my mind why you would keep returning to The Farrier when you do seem to prefer them? Perhaps you are living in hope that we will ‘improve’. I mention this as when you last reviewed us in March 2019, you left us a 3 star review under the heading ‘Needs Improvement’. As your current review awarded us 2 stars you are obviously now even more dissatisfied, which is a great shame, as everyone at The Farrier cares a great deal about our guests and works incredibly hard to try to ensure everyone is happy. Please allow me to say that on the night in question, the restaurant was fully booked downstairs and we also had 12 guests dining upstairs in the Saddle Room. That said, I am very sorry you were inconvenienced by having to stand. It is regrettable that we couldn’t offer you all a seat but please do be assured our staff did ask to be excused as they passed you. We always welcome constructive criticism and thank you for your complimentary sentiments regarding the decor and the deserts. We do endeavour to ‘take reviews on board’, however, I must draw your attention to the fact that we are fortunate to receive many lovely reviews regarding our food and our staff and hence we must also acknowledge that we can only please ‘some of the people, some of the time’ but thank you for all your thoughts. I was relieved to hear that you had had a ‘nice evening’ and it would be wonderful to think that one day, fingers crossed, perhaps on the 5th visit, you may be able to enjoy the food rather than just the company as you mentioned in your closing sentiments.

I visited at the weekend with a group of friends. Upon arrival the bar area upstairs was busy, however when we went downstairs to eat the restaurant was quiet with no one else sitting in the room we were sat In which granted was nice to have a practically private dining room. I have visited the Farrier on a few occasions now a few times for lunch which I have thoroughly enjoyed and it is a real treat. The occasions when we have visited on an evening have been somewhat disappointing, on this particular occasion I ordered the vegetarian mushroom pasta with ‘truffle’ which could not be tasted due to the overpowering breaded mushroom on the top. The service was poor meaning that we had to go to the bar to order more drinks, we ran out of water and had to ask several times for more and the table wasn’t cleared of empty glasses meaning that when the mains came the waitress pushed them around to fit as opposed to clearing them first. The dessert although looked very fancy didn’t taste as good as it looked and was taken over by the crumbled biscuit at the bottom of the dish. The reason for visiting on more than one occasion is not out of personal choice but more to suit the person whose occasion it was and why we were visiting. The fact the surroundings are relaxing and well decorated which Scarborough and surrounding areas are lacking and the hope that things improve with time and experience is why I would return again.

Hello There katieboo972 When putting ones heart and soul into a family business it is always going to be disheartening to wake up to a review with such a discouraging title. But let’s focus on the positive, similarly to laurenj333, you like the decor. Hurrah! Indeed, I noticed there were quite a few similarities in the two reviews and some almost identical sentiments and in that respect I would refer you to my previous response to her review. You mentioned that you have visited us for lunch on several occasions which you have ‘thoroughly enjoyed’ which is lovely to hear and I wonder why one of those visits wasn’t worthy of a more complimentary review and why you would feel moved to take to social media only when you have negative sentiments to convey? Thank you for unravelling the mystery as to why you (and laurenj333), have had no opportunity other than to return to The Farrier, despite your previous dissatisfactions. This being ‘to suit the person who’s occasion it was’, the inference being that you would rather not but you simply attending to please someone else. It would appear that everyone is coming to make someone else happy, but secretly you are all dissatisfied...That said, if you aren’t all dissatisfied, please could the one person who likes us spare the time to write something more uplifting and positive? I have to be honest and say that I often think that, ‘anonymous keyboard warriors’ have no idea of the damage they are potentially causing to a small family run business with their bad press and negativity. After working for many years to create The Farrier from a tired and dilapidated building, putting our family through financial stress and sacrifice to pay for this renovation, exorbitant business rates, rising staff wages, paying cooperation tax, personal tax, VAT, and more other outgoings than you could possibly imagine, along with working more hours than most people work in a week there is little joy to be had in reading your review. We are proud to employ local people and are proud to offer the best we can in every respect to our guests. It is a great shame that we constantly fail to meet your expectations. Surely it would be so much kinder to lift up the spirits of the people who are trying to bring something good to the area, which you yourself conceded are lacking? Best Wishes Team Farrier

We spent one night at The Farrier to celebrate our wedding anniversary due to our holiday abroad being cancelled. It took us some time to choose somewhere new to try and we were not disappointed. The fully refurbished accommodation was superbly presented and perfectly clean. We were very impressed by every aspect of our room named War Horse which included a dressing area and generous bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and room nicely decorated. A good selection of tea and coffee making facilities was most welcome along with the fresh milk and water in a small fridge. We ate or evening meal in the restaurant which was equally impressive. We both enjoyed a delicious fillet steak and sticky toffee pudding. We could not fault the food or the service. Breakfast was again excellent and plentiful. There was a good choice of both hot and cold however, we chose the Yorkshire grill - we did not need to eat again until the evening! We look forward to a revisit in the near future.

Hello There thesmallers. Belated congratulations on your recent Wedding Anniversary and I was very sorry to hear your trip abroad has been cancelled due to the strange state of the world at the moment. So many people have had their plans turned upside down this year. It sure has been a strange one! To know that amongst all the madness you were kind enough to put your faith in us and chose to give us a whirl as a potential 'new place' to celebrate, is really touching and I am overjoyed (and a little bit relieved too) that we managed to live up to your expectations and hopefully you left us with lots of lovely memories of your time with us. I'm always really grateful when someone takes time out of their day to leave a contribution to our Trip Advisor page but to know that you felt able to leave us such an enthusiastic, warm and complimentary account of your 'celebration' is the icing on the cake...with a cherry on top too :-) Yay! I'm glad you left us feeling happy and full and we do hope you will have the opportunity to come and stay with us again soon.

We stayed at The Farrier as a birthday treat for my 40th. Overnight stay with dinner and breakfast. Everything was perfect and beyond that from start to finish. The service, the food, the atmosphere, not forgetting the ‘feel safe’ environment the staff have created where Covid practices are reassuring and stringent. Our room was nothing less than immaculate, clean, warm and cosy and not without all the mod cons including air con, lights in wardrobes, robes, gorgeous complimentary toiletries etc. The meal was sublime. I started with the mackerel pakora followed by the lamb chops. Everything just delicious and cooked to perfection. The dessert was incredible, After Eight, all things minty including chefs own take on mint Aero. We finished the stay with a beautifully cooked breakfast. Hubby had full English, I had poached eggs and spinach. Gorgeous coffee too. The staff throughout the stay really could not do enough for us. So polite and pleasant. What a stay! Very highly recommended.

Firstly may I extend belated, but sincere, Happy 40th Birthday Wishes from the whole of Team Farrier...Yay!! I fear we have regrettably not given you a gift on your special birthday but you have definitely given us one with this warm, complimentary and descriptive account of the time you spent with us. I should also perhaps mention how humbled we are that you would choose to spend this very special occasion with us when we know there are so many places you could have chosen to be. Your kind words described your whole experience with us beautifully and who could ask for more than ‘perfect and beyond’. Bless your cotton socks! I am always grateful when someone takes time out of their day to contribute to our Trip Advisor page in such glowing terms and it’s always lovely to receive such an amazing review, that said, knowing that you and your hubby really enjoyed ‘all things Farrier’, is also priceless. It will be a decade until it’s time to celebrate another big birthday, goodness me, but in the meantime please be sure to find an excuse to come and see us again before then. Sincere thanks and warm wishes...Team Farrier :-)

We REALLY enjoyed The Farrier. It’s easily the best restaurant experience we’ve had in Scarborough. We would have liked to have enjoyed a drink in the bar but given current restrictions it cannot open. Instead we sat straight down in the restaurant which is really tastefully decorated, and the kind staff quickly made us feel very welcome. We had the Sunday menu which we would really recommend - biggest Yorkshire pudding you’ll have ever seen! We’ll definitely be back to try the main dinner menu some time soon. Thanks The Farrier!

Thank you for your amazing review which served as a wonderful birthday gift :-) Do forgive me...I can't resist... Happy Birthday to us Happy Birthday to us Happy Birthday dear The Farrier Happy Birthday to us Yay!!!... 2 years ago today we opened the door of The Farrier and, at that time, we could have only hoped to receive such complimentary sentiments as '...easily the best restaurant experience we've had in Scarborough', so please know how very perfect your timing was and how happy you have made us all at what is still a very challenging time for us and for so many other businesses and families in so many ways. I am so sorry you couldn't enjoy the Cocktail Lounge. It has been incredibly sad to see it empty during the Festive Season as we take such a lot of pleasure from knowing that people are enjoying it...let's keep fingers crossed that on your next visit we will be back in full swing. We are very touched when there is so much for people to worry about right now that you felt that you would like to take the time to offer kind words and support to us. It was also lovely to hear that you felt very welcome which of course you are. We will very much look forward to welcoming you again soon and in the mean time thank you again for your 'birthday gift'. Stay safe and well and sincere best wishes to you and your loved ones for the Festive Season.

Whilst I am sure many of the clientele of this establishment will disagree with this review I have to say I was very disappointed with the food. It didn't get off to a very good start when my husband was given the evening meal menu instead of the lunch menu it as only when he had perused it and made his choice that the issue came to light. 2 of our party choice the gammon and the other 2 the fish and chips. The chips were undercooked, the batter on the fish was very greasy and although crisp on the outside was very soggy inside. Needless the say we left more of the fish and chips than we ate. All these issues could have clearly been avoided. We voiced our opinion to the staff on collection of the plates and the comment was "we will let the chef know". I would have thought it more prudent to let the manager know.

Hello There Anydutyfree...(Loving the name, and oh how I wish there was some in the offing,...duty free that is,...or at least the opportunity to be at an airport, preferably travelling to somewhere fabulous, to purchase some!!!,...travel options being regrettably rather limited of late but I'm sure we all live in hope). Well, what a shame we failed to impress you, that said, we are always very willing to acknowledge that not everyone will be a fan. Being given the wrong menu was indeed a silly error and as you quite rightly mentioned, no need at all for that to happen, but again, it would be wise to acknowledge that sometimes mistakes do happen, but indeed, not at all what we would aspire to. Regarding your food choices, as you kindly acknowledged, others may disagree with your sentiments and please do forgive me if I take a moment to thank each and every one of our kind contributors, for said 'rave reviews' for which are exceedingly grateful. We do totally respect your opinion and are very sorry that you didn't enjoy your fish and chips. As an establishment who cares a great deal about the experience our guests receive we are very sorry that we were a disappointment but we would love you to visit again if you felt able to.

2 x couples in our 70's visited 12th to 14th April 2022 (2 nights). You know its going to be good as you approach the door from the car park, nice door handle in the shape of a horse bit (I think), nothing bog standard here. You are met at reception by a smiling member of staff, offer to take your luggage to the room which when you get there certainly has the wow factor, every detail is perfect and is top quality, even fresh milk in the fridge for teas and coffees. My wife is disabled so the lift which is big enough for a wheelchair is really handy, only 4 rooms so it's a big expense to put it in. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food is lovely, well presented, plenty of it and delicious, booking is required as it's open to non residents and busy. Breakfast was equally as good, quality ingredients, well cooked and presented. The cocktail bar on the same floor as the bedrooms is luxurious and would not look out of place in a top notch hotel, we had a drink before and after our meals in there and perused the menu. All the staff we met were polite, chatty, helpful, knowledgeable and most important had a genuine smile on their face. It sounds like I have been paid to write this review (I havent) The Farrier is that good, if you want a treat make a booking, you will not be disappointed, we will be.

Good Afternoon George f. We lovvvve Fantastic, Fantastic and Wonderful….Yay! And…as if your title wasn’t fabulous enough, it was super to hear that you took pleasure from something as simple as our door handle, which as you correctly identified, was indeed an oversized horse bit, ooo we do love a ‘bit’ of attention to detail here at The Farrier…’bit’…. See what I did there :-)…sorry, I can’t help myself! There were truly so many lovely sentiments contained in your words that I won’t mention them all but for you to think that our little Cocktail Lounge was befitting of a ‘top notch’ hotel made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :-) Thank you George f. I love that you also did your ‘bit’…( you will be delighted to know…read relieved…that I will resist repeating the joke again)… to encourage prospective guests to ‘book’ as we hate, hate hate, to turn anyone away. Faaaaaabulous news that you would all like to return and please be assured that, when you do, the pleasure will be all ours. Sincere Thanks from Dani and Team Farrier.

We originally tried to book an evening meal but had to settle for an afternoon sitting. The restaurant setting is beautifully done. The lunch menu is small but varied and well worth the price. The portions are hearty so much so that we couldn’t manage a pudding! We were so impressed that we managed a follow up visit in the doggy parlour this time leaving enough room for a pudding and boy was it worth it. We just couldn’t keep away and booked a breakfast for the last morning of our stay in Cayton again we’ll presented great food. We would highly recommend a visit and are thinking of a stay in the hotel. Ps they also have an upstairs cocktail bar in superb surroundings which we managed to fit in one night, again fantastic.

Hello Kevin H What an absolutely lovely review....Thank you so much. I should perhaps also say thank you for your whole hearted commitment to joining us whilst in the area. I particularly admired your determination to consume a pudding!...Well done you, Fabulous! It was lovely to hear that you enjoyed not only your meals, but also the decor and surroundings too. To know that you feel able to recommend us to others is also heart warming and very much appreciated. I do hope you may consider staying with us on your next visit to the area and either way we will look forward to welcoming you again whenever that may be.

Having to delay my wifes birthday meal, I messaged the farrier asking if they could possibly fit us in for a meal and explained the circumstances. Well within minutes Dani responded saying they would arrange some tables and fit us in for such an important meal. Well we went on the 30th just after hearing that yet again hospitality was to take the brunt of shutdowns like usual, like usual the property was wonderfully clean and the staff pleasant and polite. We ordered our starters and main course from a lovely lady called Sue that was knowledgeable on what we wanted and then brought us drinks. I ordered the pattie for starter and for main course the sea bass and prawns with fresh vegetables, the starter was soon delivered to our table and it was delicious, we finished it and had a break for drinks and then the main course was delivered and only one word outstanding and very tasty. I had deliberately chosen a light main course because I was having a pudding and chose the bread and butter pudding when it arrived it was deconstructed bread and butter pudding a bit shocked but all I can say can I have more please Sir. I know that you and your good lady have been very loyal guests of The Farrier for some time now as I do recall some of your previous kind contributions. Sincere thanks for all your support thus far. You were also kind enough to reference that once again we have been asked to close our doors. When the first lock down occurred in March we were asked to close just after we had purchased all our produce for a fully booked, Mothers Day, weekend,...Fast forward to December the 30th,... we were given a matter of hours notice that we would have to close our doors yet again, this time after purchasing all our food and drink for the New Year Gala Dinner which was again fully booked. I hope you will forgive me for using your kind review to 'vent' but I felt you would not mind if I used this opportunity to try to describe our despair at the fact that this has happened to us ( and thousands of other venues across the land) yet again. All this, during a year when we have already had to try to function with reduced numbers, adhering to every protocol, is almost becoming too much to bear. Thank you most sincerely for acknowledging your concern. It was kind of you both to think of us also when it came to choosing a venue for your wife's celebratory meal...yay! I love not only that you enjoyed your food choices, but also, that you think our establishment is clean. Yay!!! We are blessed to regularly get complimentary comments about our lovely front of house staff, but for people to consider and appreciate the people behind the scenes too is just grand. It was our pleasure to help you celebrate and it will also be our pleasure to welcome you back whenever that may be!...Regrettably as of New Years Day, who knows when that will be. Thank you from the whole team for your continued support, your kind consideration and your wonderful review...Happy New Year!

We visited The Farrier for the first time yesterday for my birthday. As my partner and I had been isolating (Covid-19), I was a little concerned at being in close proximity to others whilst eating, I needn’t to have worried as I raised this with the owner and she promised adequate safe spacing, living up to her promise (Thanks Danni) Right, the food...we both had a starter and main, and ashamedly admit to not being able to finish the main. We had a roast lamb dinner and a wild boar sausage dinner, both with the biggest and lightest Yorkshire pudding ever. The service from arriving to leaving was faultless, staff were friendly and accommodating, and the food was delicious and faultless. Our first visit, and definitely not our last. Well done The Farrier team, and thank you.

Hi Joanne Thank you so much for the amazing review that you were kind enough to leave for us. I confess it has been nerve wracking, but so rewarding, to re-open and be able to greet people once more. That said, the icing on the cake has truly been to receive such heart-felt words such as yours. I can’t thank you enough for being brave enough to trust us with your health concerns and I am over the moon that we were able to make you feel comfortable and safe. I am equally as delighted to hear that you enjoyed your meals and will pass on your compliments to our chefs who have indeed produced some wonderful fayre since we were able to re open. I will forgive you for not managing to finish your mains but if you are kind enough to dine with us again, I would definitely encourage you to try to squeeze in a dessert they are all totally delicious :-) Your review could not have been more complimentary and during these ‘challenging times’ for everyone please know that a few kind words and a pat on the back are priceless and very gratefully received by us all. We will look forward to welcoming you all very soon.

Spent NYE at this wonderful place , what a night . 7 course dinner was amazing so tasty and presentation was so good , the chef even came to each table to deliver our pre desert such a good touch . There was a young lady singing whilst we were eating which made the night so special and to top it off there was even a disco upstairs in the cocktail lounge . One of the best NYE we’ve ever had . Thank you for yet again another splendid night 😊

Hello There foodlush1556. Your review has truly made my day. We did try very hard to give everyone the best evening we could and to know that this was appreciated means the world to us. We have had so many lovely comments in person regarding New Years Eve but I am delighted that you have felt able to review the evening so positively on Trip Advisor. Thank you so much. Your description of the evening was just perfect and for you to consider it one of the best NYE you have ever had is beyond rewarding. It was our absolute pleasure to have you with us to welcome in the New Year and thank you also for your continued support. Wishing you a wonderful, happy and healthy 2020 and I hope we will see you again soon.

We had a very good meal at the Farrier - I had the meat balls to start and the creme brulee as a dessert, both of which were excellent. However my main of sea bass was described as a fillet but was presumably originally quite large as it appeared to have been cut in half as it was no bigger than if I put my fingers and thumbs together in a triangle. Even though it came with some scallops and brown shrimps I expected a bigger portion for the price (I believe it was around £19). Service was friendly, although there was quite a long wait for drinks as the bar man upstairs was trying to cope with making cocktails and serve drinks.

Good Evening Georgia Yorkshire. Thank you for coming to dine with us and it was lovely to hear that you enjoyed your starter and desert. It was a great shame that you were dissatisfied by the size of your serving of Sea Bass with respect to the price paid for the same. Please accept our apologies for the disappointment caused but I can honestly say that in this instance, I feel that this may have been an anomaly, it is certainly not the norm and in all the time I have been responding to guest reviews I truly cannot recall another guest comment suggesting the same. However, it was very kind of you to say that what you had enjoyed was very good. It was also regrettable that you felt that your wait for drinks was a little on the long side. I know our staff do their best to serve guests in a timely manner, but I must also be honest and acknowledge that Cocktails, made from scratch, are rather a time consuming entity and a large order of Cocktails unfortunately does inevitably slow down proceedings. All things considered I think it was very kind of you to award us a 4 Bubble score and should you decide to dine with us again, we shall endeavour to be worthy of a 5.
