Absolutely delightful place to visit. A true old fashioned local pub with great food.
We had the Sunday roast dinner and we both have to admit it was the best Sunday dinner we have had eating out in years. The pork belly was delicious and there was plenty of meat (I also had lamb and my partner had beef) and vegetables. Perfectly cooked, wonderful gravy and we left feeling so full there was that much food.
I know people commented on the friendliness but I found it charming.. the landlady was so welcoming and the gentleman serving may not win any hospitality awards but he gave us a proper Yorkshire welcome regardless…
Of course it’s a local pub frequented by local people and of course people stopped and looked… but it was a wonderful and charming experience and we will definitely be back again!
Highly recommended!

Stayed in Oxenhope for a week and visited the Lamb several times. All was excellent, service, quality and surroundings. Table service as still in Covid restrictions and no food being served likewise. The only downside was they were shut weekday lunchtimes even though website said they were open. Glad it was a dog friendly pub too.

phoned and was told it was steak and wine Tuesday - so booked for 7.0ish. Had a grand Timmy Taylors pint and bottle of red to share - sirloins were spot on - cooked to perfection. Great value night and cosy warm pub. Planning to visit tonight.

I've never met such a pair of grumpy landlords in my time. We stayed local to The Lamb, & thought we'd enjoy it. How wrong we were, on entering I ordered 3 pints of beer for us, no words of welcome or otherwise from grumpy. "£12.80" were his only words. We sat outside,
My mate ordered the next round, and was met with the same ignorant rapore, needs to go back to hospitality school. We did book for Sunday lunch, but decided to cancel & go elsewhere, so glad we did, we ate at the The Fleece in Haworth, great big beautiful Sunday beef dinner for £12. Speaking to locals, they ALL AGREED about the lamb.

We visited this pub as a family, by god I wished we kept walking. I’ve never felt so uninvited In all my life. Bar staff RUDE. My husband pulled out cash but had the card reader shoved in front of him, “no sorry we don’t take cash” no atmosphere (well just a cold one) either keep walking to the next pub or save you money and stay home.

Phoned to book and explained for a couple and child (our 4year old granddaughter) was told it was pizza night only, which was fine for us.
On arrival a few people in but looked liked they could be local, unfortunately our welcome was non existent, very miserable and rude landlord it took him all his time to explain to us what wine they had We were told where our table was (in separate room from the bar which was empty apart from us) and given the pizza menu but immediately was told that ‘she’ better sit down and behave (at this stage our granddaughter) was getting into her seat and causing no trouble whatsoever. The pizzas arrived and were very nice but again Mr miserable made a rude comment to our granddaughter, again not warranted. Three people then joined the table next to us, obviously local as they were welcomed , landlord removed our empty plates, didn’t ask if we had enjoyed our meals or in fact anything about how we found things but he did take the time to say ‘right you will need to sit down and behave as other people are here now’, or granddaughter had finished her meal and was walking between us at either side of the table and causing absolutely no problem. We paid and left with no acknowledgment from owner
All in all it was a very upsetting and rude experience. We didn’t say anything to him to cause a scene as obviously we were the outsiders!!!
I wouldn’t normally put a negative review but it was the worse customer service I have ever experienced and feel that people should know that obviously families(especially children) are not welcome in this pub
Owner needs to learn manners and really don’t know how a business can survive in this day and age with this attitude

No dogs allowed. Pizza only (no sides). Went anyway as was keen to try the pizza specials - they were nice but underwhelming. Customer service from lady behind bar good but the man who served us looked really annoyed we were there! And no one told us that the pizzas would all be cooked and brought out one at a time, otherwise we would have ordered the kids first. As it was, two adults has finished eating before o e of the kids even had their pizza. We booked for 5 and were told we would have to vacate the table by 7. Outlook plates were cleared just after 6 but by 6 30 no one had asked if we wanted puds so we just left.

Our family of 11 have just returned from a fantastic break in the small village of Oxenhope. Whilst there we thought a visit to to the Lamb inn for a few drinks and give a bit back to the local economy.
Big mistake, the person behind the bar couldn’t have been anymore miserable or rude, no welcome, no conversation and a grunted thanks once my drinks were paid for. We all noticed this atmosphere and had a feeling visitors weren’t welcome. Two of us left after one drink whilst the others stayed for a few more rounds.
On leaving the Lamb inn the rest of the party bumped into a local who confirmed this is very common and very few locals drink here too.
On checking the reviews here I can see others had a similar experience.
Not your typical country pub, no dogs allowed (fair enough) but be polite and welcoming to your guests.
Apart from us there were only 2 others in the pub, obviously don’t need the money over the counter.
Avoid.

We live a couple of miles up the road and visited The Lamb for the first time this week. We sat outside looking over the countryside views and had a few pints. Service was fast and friendly and drinks good value. We’ll be back when indoor dining/drinking is allowed once more

A lovely visit. We were fitted in when ringing to book the day before and glad we were. Friendly service, good beer, and delicious food served promptly. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Lovely open fires also. Well worth a visit.

visited the lamb a few weeks ago. Was so impressed with everything they have done. All the tables spread out and they even have a huge tent outside where people are spread out. There was still a good atmosphere and we felt really comfortable. Great choice of drinks and the staff where super friendly. Will be back

Called when passing on a walk. Lovely traditional pub with some very nice beer. Such a shame that the landlord was straight out of the Victor Meldrew mould. We would have stayed longer if the welcome had been anything like warm. Shame….

It isn't gushy or showy. It is just a straight, proper, solid, old fashioned, village pub. Feels like it has grown out of the ground, not a transplanted metropolitan styalised themed place to be seen in. It is perfectly friendly. You go there to be a part of the village, not fawned over. It is a great asset, run by good people.
