Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great Sunday lunch, everything cooked perfectly, generous portion size with bottomless Yorkshire puds and gravy, Complements to the chef. The service was good too, staff helpful and any requests dealt with quickly and with a smile.

I ordered the the bbq chicken dry congealed cheese sauce and hard over cooked chicken, that looked like it had been reheated or microwaved. My wife ordered the simple burger which was a fair description as it came on a dry bun no lettuce or...relish as described on menu it did have some congealing cheese and a very overcooked dry burger. Frozen chips were o/k. No point complaining as it would be anybody’s guess what would the replacement be. If this food was produced by a Chief then unfortunately they need to up their game. Sorry the review seem so awful, but it is honest opinion. The place it self is nice perhaps have a drink there and try any of a number of restaurants in Stockton Heath.we won’t be returning. Sorry.More

The location beckoned on a nice day but the food was appalling. A simple cheeseburger was dry, missing the lettuce and dill pickle and the cheese looked as if it had been cooked yesterday and reheated. Same for the New York chicken - a dried...up chicken breast with congealed cheese, congealed bbq sauce and bacon maybe cooked in August? It comes to something when the frozen chips are the best part by a long way. Really regret the visit and the total waste of money. Could not bring ourselves to complain as anyone serving food of that calibre really couldn’t possibly care less or be able to rectifyMore

Had a table booked for 12 noon on Sunday 25th June, the place was empty.Staff hanging around ignoring us.Food below parr.Ordered Sunday lunch, chicken and beef dry as was the veg.Tandoori chicken burnt on the outside and dry on the inside.Sizzling peppers and onions swimming in oil.Cauliflower...cheese came after mains,so we complained & was knocked off the bill.Told assistant manager of our experience but fell on deaf ears.Franco the boss was around but silence from him.Place is going down hill & the price of the food is on parr with what the restaurants in the village are charging but the quality & value is just not worth it and nobody seems to be willing to be accountable. They carry on like this and I can see this pub closing amid the cost of living crisis,as staying at home cooking Sunday dinner,is not only cheaper but the standard would be higher.More

We come here to meet as friends every few months and have done for years. We came on the 9th June to meet for dinner after work. We booked a table only to go and order to be told no food is being served! We...had no prior warning even though they had our contact details through the booking. Neither of us had eaten and we couldn’t get into anywhere else so last minute so we ate crisps. We got no explanation or apology. Surely you should cater for those who had pre booked. As a group we won’t gp anymore and will meet somewhere else.More

A 1/5 is being generous. Whilst I get that it was busy (for drinks) it was not busy for food ! Myself and six family members sat down to eat , no table service , order at bar which bless the staff was swamped. What...I don’t understand though is how the quality of the food could be so bad when no one else was eating. Every plate my family ordered was burnt and tasteless and they forgot about one of the kids meals. I would suggest retraining for the kitchen team. As they should not have been happy with what they were sending out of the kitchen.More
