We visited the Anchor Inn for Sunday lunch as it is listed in the Good Food Guide and we wanted to try it. It is opposite the Great Ouse and the famous bridge. All the staff were very welcoming, friendly and efficient and we were not rushed at all. For starters, there was a choice of homemade soup, king prawns... More

Tried this place between Christmas and New Year, was very pleased. Waited what seemed to be a long time for food, but was well worth it, recommend the pepper chicken, all fresh and served up nice...would definitely go again, bet this place is a proper attraction during summer due to the setting. Thank you, see you soon.

Very friendly staff, but found the dining room a bit lacking in atmosphere, food nice enough.. The setting is opposite the river and a lovely many arched bridge, it would be the perfect place to go during the Summer..

while doing some research on our trip to the UK in 1985, I came across comments about the anchor inn. my wife and i and our 6 year old boy stayed at my aunts house for about 10 days and the only time we had a restaurant sit down dinner was at the Anchor Inn. Being American, I had heard... More

This pub is in a great setting for a summers evening. I am sure its the perfect location to meet friends for a drink. However, I was meeting friends here for dinner as its roughly half way between where we live and I must say, considering its location "in the middle of nowhere" I thought the food would be something... A nice pub set next to the canal, we come here a lot for a weekend drink but the first time we have had dinner here. The service was good, a little chime goes when the food is available from the kitchen, the ham and pea soup went down well. The food was plentiful and the beef curry was excellent,... More

We had an excellent buffet lunch here after our cruise. There was plenty of it with a variety for every palate. Would have given five but it was all cleared away before we had a chance to try some offerings. All washed down with a really good primitivo.
