A wonderful Sunday meal with my husband and young daughter. The pub warmly welcomed us without a booking and the meals promptly arrived. Not only looked delicious but the roast sirloin of beef roast was yummy. Service was great and there was a fab outdoor...play area for the kids. We will certainly be back if we visit this area again. What a find! Thanks the Rhodes family xMore

We both had the beer battered cod then the cheese board. The staff and the meals were worth 5*. Couldn't fault the food or service. Highly recommend.

Four of us had an excellent lunch at reasonable cost. Interesting varied menu and specials board. Food well presented by very friendly, efficient proprietor and staff. Good selection of beers, kept in good condition. This place was found by pot luck on the Internet, but...how lucky we were to find it. Highly recommended.More

This review is based on our last visit - have had many lovely meals at this pub in the past so I don’t want to be too harsh in my scoring because it is a lovely place with lovely staff. However, unfortunately, on our most...recent visit, the food was surprisingly really disappointing so wanted to write this review as constructive criticism. We both had fish and chips and have had this here before which has been really lovely, but this time the cod was really unpleasant, grey and even red in places. The batter was dull and not crispy, the peas were inedible and the only thing I ate was the chips but they didn’t seem to be the same lovely homemade chips I had always had before, they were different so was really disappointed as the chips here were my favourite. We have never complained here before and did on this occasion and the staff were very apologetic and helpful with our complaint but I just wanted to write this because I do want to return in the future but feel it’s important to report constructive criticism as much as it is positive feedback. I wish you the best in the future and look forward to returning one day.More

We've eaten here with friends for lunch on numerous occasions and it never fails to delight. This last week was particularly splendid as they were offering a rather delicious(proper) pie of beef, blue cheese...and other lovely stuff. None of your stew and puff pastry lid...offerings here thank you very much! Dessert was fab although a little unnecessarily heavy on squirty cream we felt. Get down there and grab yourself a pie before they're gone!More

6 of us had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Lots of choice of meats, generous portions with plenty of veg and a jug of gravy. Best roast potatoes I've had in a pub. Pub roasts can be a bit hit and miss but couldn't fault...my meal, the lamb was really tasty. Desserts were lovely too.More

We were in Ross-on-Wye for a five night stay and had booked the Red Lion after reading the consistent reviews for our first nights meal for four of us. The best choice ever. 👌 The food and service were all excellent. Every meal, fish, meat,...veg, and chips were all cooked to perfection. The Wye Valley bitter I highly recommend also the house gin offer went down well. And to cap it all Sunday lunch was superb a choice of, beef, lamb, chicken and pork in large, medium, OAP and kids portions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.More

Pleased to visit again. Excellent service by young enthusiastic staff. Generally good value especially the main courses of lamb and pork. Plenty of vegetables though roast potatoes not so good - hard. Starters and sweet courses vary in value but quality very good. Prawn cocktail...for£9.50 pricy. Coffees somewhat expensive. Total for two, without wine, £70 so a little high for Sunday lunch but the quality makes it all worth while. We look forward to visiting again, though as it's somewhat distant from home in Solihull might be a while.More
