Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

An excellent dinner with friends. After a warm welcome, we were shown to our table and our drinks served by friendly staff without any delay. There was a good choice on the menu and my wife's Gluten Free diet did not cause any problems. Our...food was well presented and delicious. The portion sizes were ample and very good value for money. I can certainly recommend.More

We took my 94 year old father in law and his 92 years old wife here for a Tuesday lunchtime me and couldn't have been more impressed by the welcome ,tre service and the food that we received . The main meals of liver and...burger were spot on and the merrigue pudding was something to behold. Lovely atmosphere in the pub and wheelchair friendly as well.. would definitely recommend this pub for all occasionsMore

What a lovely find! I’d not visited before and we were looking for somewhere between Ashford & Tenterden for a Friday friends lunch. Everything was perfect …ample parking (including very close to the pub for accessibility issues …(or in the event of rain causing frizzy...hair!) A very warm welcome from the delightful hosts, into a beautiful period building …lots of beams, totally authentic… …..efficient and very friendly service and best of all delicious food and drinks (we loved the wine glasses too!) And it was lovely and warm in there (always a bonus for chilly me!) We plan to revisit as we’ve heard the Sunday carvery is fab! Thank you so much for making us so welcome …will definitely be back soon :)More

Lovely destination pub sitting on the Village Green. We had the Sunday carvery which was excellent with tons of choice. The staff are brilliantly friendly and efficient which reflects so well on the owners. This was our third visit in the last few months and...every one of them has been excellent! It’s probably our favourite Sunday Lunch destination and look forward to visiting again.More

My husband and I were recommended to try this pub as they had been a few times and found the staff friendly and the food great and not over priced. So we decided to give it a try for lunch today we weren’t disappointed our...drinks were brought promptly by a very friendly young man we placed our order and the food was absolutely first class hot and tasty. We will definitely come here again such lovely helpful friendly staff and would thoroughly recommend. Thank you so much.More

We went to this pub with a group of friends for lunch. There was a good selection of meals on offer and something for everyone. A good selection of beers were also on offer. The staff were all very friendly and the service was very...good. One down side in my opinion, the football pictures on the wall in corridor near the toilets were not the best!😉More

On line booking worked well and we were seated quickly. We loved the fact that everyone had to sanitise before touching the vegetables at the carvery and we were called up to the chef rather than long queue. Reasonable pricing and good quality meats. Just...a few little tweaks needed. Staff were keen to check we were OK but visited a little too frequently. Desert menus were stained and crumpled.More

We went in for Carvery and food is absolutely lovely and we Always come here for meals, however I will never return after todays experience on arrival the waitress was extremely rude about our 2 year old, then we ordered our food and when it...arrived I ask the waitress for a small plate for the baby’s food and was told NO unless paid for another child meal, bare mind we come here weekly does meals and never been a problem that our 2 & 5 years old can’t share a meal! Absolutely ridiculous how won’t be returning! The two gentleman that served us were brilliant such a shame!More

was not expecting anything special; not knowing the area; but I was very pleasantly suprised. We were made very welcome and received very good attention by staff. The food was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed. Also a special mention for the beer which was also excellent.

Absolutely fantastic Sunday carvery lunch we have just had today. Thick cuts of meats, good choice of vegetables, all cooked to perfection. All staff are friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. First time at this pub but we will be returning soon as it’s the best carvery...we have ever had anywhere. Truly superb, thank you.More

Was passing through tenterden towards Ashford and stopped off for a bite to eat. Could not decide what to eat as so many fabulous dishes to choose from on the new summer menu (so will have to go back) hubby had the steak and said...it was amazing so well cooked and the chips were so tasty 😋 I had the gluten free burger and was so tasty full of flavour 😋 the service was great very attentive. Would highly recommend great atmosphere, great staff, great food and great pub xMore
