I had read plenty of great reviews for this restaurant and was really looking forward to it. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by a lovely staff member who offered us a chance to wander around the garden with a glass of sparkling rose before being seated. It was a beautiful sunny day and this just set the scene... More

It was a wet day but certainly it was worth a visit down the long dirt road where we had lunch. Nice wine and good food and excellent service.

Thanks James and the staff for a sensational dinner. Your hospitality was amazing and loved hearing about wine making. If you looking for 5star Italian food, look no further!!! It is by far the best Italian cuisine I have had- not to mention the exceptional wine!

Its a beautiful place, the food and wine are wonderful. James was a perfect host and made us feel special. The whole experience is something to treasure, starting with the excitement of finding the restaurant down a windy gravel track and then sitting outside with a glass of wine savouring the peace and tranquility and the general atmosphere of the... New Zealand has some of the poorest restaurant service in the developed world, almost as bad as Australia. This is because waiting is usually done by barely trained students and seasonal workers; even some "top" restaurants in NZ pay peanuts to wait staff and with tipping not common practice, the staff tend to be what you get for minimum wage.... What a special place and what a memorable meal - well I remember most of it. PC makes the whole range of wines from prosecco to limoncello and we sampled all of them so my recollection of some of the dishes is a little hazy. We were a party of three and put on a large table with some local... More

We enjoyed a fabulous, long, lazy lunch at Poderi Crisci. The setting is certainly worth the trip. Al fresco dining on a perfect summer day. Granted, it may be less fun in the rain but we had a warm sunny afternoons on. Children could depart the table and play on the lawn and the swings under the tree which enabled... More

The owner of Enclosure Bay recommended stopping at Poderi Crisci for lunch. This was a gem. Italian staff and cuisine. Service exceptional and the food outstanding. My recommendation is to budget at least 2-hours plus and do the set menu. They do not rush you and if high season a reservation is recommended. Highly recommend the Viburno red wine.

Description
WelcomePoderi Crisci Vineyard and Winery, set in a stunning amphitheatre surrounded by vines and olive trees, has fast become the quintessence of what in Italy is called: Agroturismo. Located 30 minutes from Matiatia in Awaawaroa Bay, Poderi Crisci occupies 7.7 hectares of north-facing slopes in the heart of Waiheke’s unique wine growing microclimate. The narrow rocky strip underlying Poderi Crisci is believed to be 30 million years older than the rest of the Island, boasting soil criss-crossed with mineralised veins. For four generations the Crisci family has been immersed in food and wine, Antonio born and raised in Napoli came to NZ in early 1990 and established Toto Restaurant in Nelson Street . With his partner Vivienne Farnell they opened Non Solo Pizza, an institution in Parnell in 1997 and Bar Vino in 2009.
