We were very excited to have lunch here when we saw what a beautiful location it's in, and everything looked lovely. The 45-minute wait for our food (with small children) was already a let-down, but would have been quickly forgotten if the food was excellent - but it wasn't. We informed the waitress that the lobster bisque was not good... More

The place was really crowded with other tourists so service was a little slow. Great seafood joint though the chowder was not what we expected! The fish made up for it. By American standards, the prices were a steal--a 3-course meal for 6 with wine came up to about US$80 (though we understand it would be exorbitant for a regular... More

We arrived and were shown to a table in the centre of the restaurant. It was a cold day, the room was drafty but the fire place was barren. This would have been a perfect night for a fire. We asked a waiter if he would light the fire and he shrugged and smiled. That was it. The waitress serving... More

Excellent sushi and lots to choose from. The takeaway platter of 40 California rolls for R100.00 is real value for money as well. I would recommend that they get a card machine though as one does not always have cash on your person.

Favorite spot for a quick lunch during work. Sushi is very well priced and usually get a table at the window to harness the sun and watch the diversity walking past. Sushi is always fresh and the tempura prawns have real tempura batter which is always a good thing. One thing I always like is the fact that every timeyou... More

We were in search of a good sushi place and we were not disappointed. It was on a quiet Saturday evening. Service was really good and the waiter was really sweet. Drinks are cheap and sushi is fantastic and affordable. We were shocked that it was so quiet. It is a bit hidden in the side streets but there are... More

I recently relocated to Cape Town and was looking for affordable, fresh and authentic sushi without all the fuss ans mayonnaise. I read a few reviews which mentioned that the area was a little run down, which it is, but nothing life threatening. The sushi is affordable, fresh and without all the fuss and mayonnaise. I still haven't found that... More

I was there for a couple of times already for the sushi platters take away.. To be honest that's the only good thing in this restaurant. Plan enough time cause it takes at least 20 minutes till you get the sushi. One night I waited almost 40 minutes. Me and my boyfriend popped in again for some Chinese food.. so... More

Sushi at an affordable price. Not a fine dining restaurant. Visit the Blue Marlin with an Open mind. The staff were friendly. This restaurant only accepts cash.
