Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Delightful to visit again! One of the few pubs in Devon that understands serving rare beef, not over cooked veggie, yummy sweets, and friendly service in gorgeous location! Chrissy and Mic x

The property is amazingly old with a history dating back to the Doomesday book. The staff are very welcoming and friendly and the service is excellent. We had a light snack Sunday lunchtime and a meal in the evening. Both really delicious and well presented....Although the decor is just a little dated it suits the overall feel of the property. It is situated in a really quiet valley and there are about four beautiful walks you can follow with really clear instructions. Looking forward to going back one day soon!More

Hadn’t been to the Cridford Inn for at least a couple of years and the change in chef was noticeable. The food, although slightly more expensive was excellent. The good quality roast beef and vegetables were very good indeed and my dessert of panna cotta...with honey, figs and pistachio nuts was absolutely delicious. Our server was a delightful young lady who had just the right balance of being polite but friendly. Will be back.More

Visited on a raining horrible Sunday. Food was good and our server was lovely. Food did take a little time to arrive as we were pushed to order food and drinks quite quickly evening though they weren’t too busy. But this isn’t something I would...fuss over to much. Food was lovely, staff lovely, and a pretty little place and village. Ps, we came from Haldon forest and the sat nav took us the back lanes! I am used to the back lanes but with the bad weather it was a mission, there was also a road closure which meant a big diversion. I would recommend coming from the way via bovey Tracey and the A38! Thank you for a nice afternoon!More

Beautiful remote country setting in small village. Quaint Inn and friendly staff. vey good food for breakfast and dinner. All room upstairs. Our room was at end upstairs. Lovely old world room but modern ensuite and very comfortable. Good size room too. Village is very...small and only consists of other quaint houses not shops etc. But we loved the remoteness of its location.More

A lovely location and great atmosphere, service was friendly if a little slow , the food was very tasty but overpriced! I had the steak , ordered medium rare as ordered and was about that , but was brought out a good 10 minutes before...the rest of the parties food! ( 8 of us in total ) . The steak was accompanied with half a shallot ,1 medium mushroom and a few chips , so a good £10 overpriced , chips where overly salted ( everyone in the group thought the food was over salted) .More

The Cridford Inn came to our rescue yesterday. Having booked at the Artichoke inn when we arrived to discover that they were closed. However, we had a lovely lunch. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. The chef went the extra mile to meet my...dietary needs as they are NOT on the 14 recognised allergens. The food is well presented flavoursome and plentiful. We will visit again. I did not know it's possibly the oldest long house in Britain which is also dog friendly. Overall a very enjoyable lunch and drive through the Devon lanes and we were blessed with a sunny day.More

Yes we do in the family restaurant so it’s important we know you are bringing dogs. The bar is dog friendly but the tables in there are not reservable at the moment while we are controlling Covid .
