We just returned from a visit to the Chequers. Both the food and the atmosphere were great. Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Staff welcoming and service brilliant as usual. We came for a celebratory meal and were not disappointed, we had Arancini for starters, Burgers for main, which were hand made, huge and tasty, and Vanilla baked cheesecake and Millionaires torte for pudding. We were seated in...More

As is typical of this time of year, I’ve had a few turkey dinners recently. The meal at The Chequers was by far the best I’ve had - excellent service and presentation, tasty turkey, perfectly cooked veg, crispy roast potatoes, and going the extra mile...More

It’s my local so I don’t often have breakfast here, but thought I’d give it a try and it’s great. Lovely soft fresh bread, proper tea pot. Chris is a fantastic host.

We met up with my brother and sister in law for Sunday lunch, very disappointed, my BLT was in cheap sliced bread and to say the salad was tired is an understatement, the beef was good but boring vegetables, and again the duck dish had...More

Set in a delightful country Village the Chequers has all the ingredients needed for a great pub/restaurant. Cosy dining areas, an ample restaurant, excellent service and a friendly welcome. The food was amazing, a superb choice of dishes and we loved building our own pies,...More
