We enjoyed a cracking Wellington, full English breakfast on Sunday morning. They open at 10:30am and were already busy ten minutes later. We were a family of four & one of us opted for the vegetarian breakfast, which looked great and was equally, very enjoyable. Next time, we’ll choose our table a little more carefully as once the four adult plates and cups & saucers were served, we were short of space.
My husband & I had been just a day earlier and had Jubilee coffee & cake. The coffee is really nice but avoid sitting close to the serving area as it’s a really noisy coffee machine.
One slight criticism is that it would have been nice if someone had collected our plates when we’d finished eating. We stacked them on the table where they stayed until we left. Having said that, we will be back.

Fancied a quick breakfast. Have known about this bistro cafe for a while. Opened at 10am and was already busy. I had early bird breakfast, husband had Wellington full English. There are as absolutely nothing left on my plate it was delicious, pot of tea as just right also, all for less than £15 for both of us.

Recently visited for breakfast, not the best I’ve ever had. Bacon was barely cooked, scrambled eggs quite rubbery. Coffee wasn’t nice at all, will give it another chance in the future.

Not been here for a few years and won't be back.
Went with my husband for lunch. We both had the crispy chicken and bacon sandwich which was supposed to come with chips, coleslaw, onion, tomato and lettuce.
The lunch came with no onion and no coleslaw. I asked one of the staff where the Coleslaw was and she said they ran out (forgot to ask about the onion). She offered me a pot of cheese instead! I accepted as thought it may add to taste.
The chicken was like you get from supermarket freezers over cooked and covered in oil and obviously very cheap. I also thought it might have been double cooked. The fries were awful again cheap frozen ones. All I ate was a couple of chips and the bacon. My husband ate most of the chips and the chicken and bacon although he said it was very greasy but he was hungry. The meal was £9.95 each. I could have made that for £1. The meal looked ut was thrown together. Whoever cooks the food should be ashamed of themselves. A friend also told me afterwards that they went last week and the food was inedible.
Only decent thing was the coffee

Visited with a friend and my mother for lunch. Accompaniments missing from two of the meals which we had to ask for and the pastry on the pie I had ordered was not cooked on the bottom and sides. The waitress asked if I wanted another and I said I did. She returned from the kitchen saying that they bought the pies in implying it was not their fault if it wasn't cooked. She asked if I wanted a different pie. I asked if they were all bought in and she said yes. I choose a different meal. It was only later I realized that it was 2 pounds cheaper. They did not offer to refund the difference or offer any kind of compensation for the inconvenience. It used to be a nice place to eat but now it seems a lot of things are bought in. Very disappointing!!

We went for lunch I ordered an egg mayonnaise baguette which I had on a previous visit & it was lovely, but when it came this time it was a baguette full of mayo & a small smattering of egg I tasted it but it was nearly all mayo !! it made me feel nauseous so I told a staff member I couldn't eat it & why she was polite & went to fetch the manager, the manager came eventually she at first said I had made my choice I said yes but this was not of the same standard as I had experienced before she eventually agreed to offer me another choice of baguette the only one left I could eat was a ham cheese & pickle when this came there was no butter on bread no pickle & a small amount of grated cheese the "ham" was thick cut lumps of white fat with a small bit of meat attached & I mean SMALL it was revolting !! very disappointed & expensive for what u got certainly wouldn't recommend!! a very poor excuse for a lunch !!

Me and my boyfriend come here religiously.
We fuel our mornings with sizzling hot breakfast delights for just £8! All-day breakfast and a piping hot drink - the perfect start to our Sunday.
Always a delight! Been coming here for over a year on and off. Not had 1 back breakfast!
A few pictures from a few visits.
Always hot. We ask for extra hot cappuccino so we can enjoy once we’ve demolished breakfast.

I came for food with two of my friends when i ordered the special which was cod fish cakes with chips and salad. I told the woman serving i didn’t want the salad so she offered peas instead, which i kindly said no thank you. The meal arrived with the peas on the plate after i said i didn’t want them, they were touching the rest of my food, which if i had an allergy would’ve ended badly. Also, most of the staff that were running the food didn’t have there hair tied up which meant it could’ve possibly got onto someone’s meal. The tables had not been wiped before we sat at the table as there was salt all over the table. The prices of the food didn’t reflect on the taste of the food, the chips were hard. Overall, not best pleased with our visit here.

I eat there regularly for breakfast which is generally okay. However, once I ate there for lunch and had burger and chips. The burger itself was fine, but the bread bun was hard in places and the chips were old, chewy and lukewarm, unable to eat both the bread and the chips. Interestingly no-one asked us if we were enjoying our meals, I wonder why? How can someone who calls themselves a chef/cook allow that to go out!

Worst carvery ever!!! All cold. Mash was lumpy with almost raw pieces. Carrot/ swede mash lumpy and watery. Sprouts were mush. Green beans fresh from kitchen were hot but almost raw. Cold frozen Yorkshire pudding. Awful meal. We left most of it.
Coffee & cake ok.
Staff need to tie hair back or wear a hat of some kind.

Visited this cafe for a quick coffee. On arrival all empty tables were left with dirty trays and leftovers. Cleared a table and queued for coffee. After asking for a daily alternative the assistant offered oat milk. She failed to inform me that there is actually an extra charge for having oat milk and only recognising this on my receipt.it’s not the cost that has annoyed me but the principle of it. It’s the only place I have been that I have been charged extra for a milk alternative

I know that table service required by Covid is a challenge to venues but it does not excuse the poor service we received that was then exacerbated by appalling customer service.
An order of two jacket potatoes and two coffees is not complicated. As we ordered and gave our correct table number we were told that there was a 30 minute wait for food. We accepted this and were happy to wait. After 15 minutes no coffee had arrived so I asked a passing member of staff to check. She came back and said they were not ready. 10 minutes later I asked again and within seconds 2 coffees were delivered with the message that they had been made earlier but with the wrong table number so couldn’t be delivered. No surprise that they were not hot. I asked for them to be replaced which they were but with a scowl from the server. Our potatoes immediately arrived and we were told that these had also been ready for a while but again had not been served due to the wrong table number being set against our order. The potatoes were really good with plenty of fillings. What was really disappointing was that no one ever apologised for the delay or the confusion.

Called today after looking around the garden centre. 1st ever visit but will not return. Ordered 2 ham & cheese paninis which were both not as hot as they should have been. The cook needs a thermometer to make sure the food is hot & a lesson on how to use a microwave to cook frozen paninis. Also ordered apple crumble for pudding but this came out at the same time as the paninis so that too was cold by the time I got to eat it. Had to return this to the kitchen to be replaced as it was rock hard. The replacement was the same so that was left. Wouldn't waste my money here again

Great service. Couldn't feel safer in today's strange world. We had very strong and tasty flat white coffees and a small gluten free breakfast. Everything cooked to perfection and gluten free toast decent for once!
The staff were as attentive as they can be Socially distancing. One way system easy to follow. Very good value. £12 for drinks and food for us both. Will definitely come again

Went back to this cafe for the first time since the "lockdown" and it was good to be back. There is obviously all of the regulations in place but the food was still as nice. On saying that, I had cottage pie (which I have had several times before) but it had a slightly different taste to it this time which wasn't as nice. The menu is limited compared to before "lockdown" and the tables have been reduced. You now pick up a menu on the way in on the one way system and order your meal at the counter. We will definitely go again. I have deducted one star as the cottage pie had an odd taste to it.
