Arrived at the hotel to immediately see that exterior and interior was in need of care and to be updated. I learned that the business had changed hands only two weeks previously and, despite the restaurant being closed the new proprietors and the limited staff...went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. They provided an excellent cooked breakfast for the nine of us, an excellent, bespoke dinner one evening (in the bar) cooked by one of the new owners and allowed us the space to have a 'do it yourself dinner' on the final night. I would like to thank all the staff and the new owners for their efforts; they deserve to be supported.More

Very friendly and helpful staff,a big thank you to Frankie, Beth and Hannah for making our stay whilst attending the Goodwood Revival an enjoyable one, even though there was no chef whilst we were there, we still had a first class full English breakfast, many...thanks again!!More

I can’t rate the food as we got fed up of waiting for our food, over an hour, the staff said they understood why we were leaving and apologised, apparently there was only one chef on duty but that said, there were hardly any customers....It would have helped if we had been informed of the problem when we arrived so we are not inspired to give it another go.More

We stopped in at the last minute on a Sunday lunchtime not really expecting to find a table free. However the pub was virtually empty. Such a shame. Service was good and the food was good. We had starters which were good but unnecessary as...we ordered the large Sunday roast!! An enormous carvery portion…..we ordered turkey but were offered any other meat we fancied as well . Loads of veg…..a tasty lunch but definitely don’t go large!!! The pub could definitely do with a refurb but all in all good all round.More

From initial phone booking to being greeted by name at the door, the friendly service from the two young ladies was excellent. My friend and I had a table on the terrace under a large parasol which was very welcome on a hot day. We...had prawn and smoked ham and cheese sandwiches with a generous serving of dressed salad and crisps. With eyes bigger than tummies we also ordered a portion of chips each! Portions were very generous and everything delicious. We'll be back soon with other friends and family!More

Greeted at the door with big smiley face, albeit with a mask on, seated on lower deck in the shade. Waiting staff very efficient, drinks came quickly and so did our lunch. Plenty of it, fresh and tasty. The waiting staff are a credit to...this pub, knowledgable and welcoming. Walked by the stream at the back of the beer garden and around the village after lunch. Lovely place to relax and chillMore

The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly, excellent service throughout. They accommodated us at very late notice ensuring we were happy with everything. The menu was extensive covering all food needs and was absolutely delicious, left feeling very full! Can’t wait to come back.

Went here with my girlfriend and friends today for a bit of the ol lunch. Beautiful setting, especially if you sit down in the garden bit by the fast running stream. Tress all around with the pub in the back ground. Shame its close to...noise roads otherwise this would be properly serene. Service was great, take a seat and its full table service. Regular check backs for more drinks and that the food was all OK, but not too much either. The food was all good, fresh and nicely cooked. The ribs were a good portion and nice and saucey.Bith pasta dishes looked good and had plenty of ingredients. The mixed grill was nice, a touch pricey at £20 for what you got in my opinion and the steak wasn't rare, but still soft and delicious. If your driving that way its certainly worth a visit.More
