All I can say about Vine Inn is that there is a lot to love: the staff, the locals, the location and (oh my word) the fish and chips, which are THE best pub fish and chips I have ever had. I don’t give this...kind of praise lightly, but we’ve recently moved to the area and this place validates our decision with every visit. Thank you.More

Went for out lunch today, I ordered fish and chips ( the best fish & chips I've ever had ). The rest had a Sunday roast. They absolutely loved it. The chef came out to ensure we were all happy with our meal, we gave...him our compliments. If you haven't been to the Vine before, I would highly recommend it. All staff are are really friendly, best pub I Altrincham, by far!More

What an absolute belter The Vine Pub is!!! Myself and 9 family members had pre booked for a fish n chip supper on a Friday evening, and it was above and beyond anything we were expecting. The food came out all together, and was absolutely...delicious, the fish was enormous and cooked to perfection. Great beer, great atmosphere. John and Joe could not have made us all feel more welcome, they are so lovely. I have nothing but thanks and praise for this traditional little pub. If the weather is good, a really lovely beer garden as well. We are all looking forward to a return visit! XxxMore

We stayed in a house just a few yards from The Vine, and what an unexpected and brilliant bonus it turned out to be! Absolutely first class, from the quality of our meals, to the fantastic and friendly service from John and all his team....Exactly what you want from a Sam Smith's pub - from the top drawer selection of drinks (the Extra Stout is phenomenally good) to the unfussy decor, and spotlessly maintained building and garden. I couldn't recommend The Vine any more highly, and though it's about an hour from where we live, I will definitely be making return trips! Like pubs used to be and I mean that in the most complementary way I can think of. Thank you, John and co - we will be back!!More

Eight of us from the Knutsford Rex Probus Club walking group congregated at the Vine Inn for lunch after our regular Thursday walk. The landlord is very friendly and accommodating and serves a cracking good pint of Sam Smith's bitter. The food was excellent and...very reasonably priced. The landlord located us into the little snug bar for our lunch which was just perfect for our needs.More

Visited here with my husband for lunch. The Inn was traditional and cosy with a lovely atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. We ordered BLT sandwiches with sides of chips and onion rings. The food was fantastic. Chips were cooked to perfection, never had...chips like them! The onion rings were fresh and home cooked. The whole lunch was amazing. I definitely recommend this little gem and will be visiting again. We may try the fish and chips next time as we overheard excellent comments from other customers whilst we were there.More

Hadn't been to The Vine for a while and looked it up on TripAdvisor. Delighted to see the recent positive reviews so gave it a go. Well the place was busy, the food was outstanding and the value was exceptional. Fish and chips is particularly...outstanding. Well done to the new management team.More

Fantastic lunch here recently. Myself and my husband opted for the liver and onions served with fresh vegetables (carrots, cabbage and broccoli), creamy mash and delicious gravy. Nothing microwaved here, everything was all fresh, piping hot and tasty. The chef knows how to cook ....Another family member opted for the scampi served with yummy homemade chips, mushy peas and homemade tartare sauce. All excellent and very reasonable prices too. The gentleman behind the bar John I think was his name was very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend and we'll be back very soon. Thank you 😀More

Amazing unexpected lunch at the Vine Inn, myself and my partner had just been for a walk in Dunham Massey and decided to nip somewhere for some lunch after, we hadn’t heard of the Vine Inn before and when you walk in the decor is...slightly dated which made us question how good the experience might be but once you taste the food it all just becomes part of the charm! We had soup and breaded mushrooms to start and both were lovely but the absolute showstopper was the Fish and Chips mains, the fish was outstanding and both me and partner haven’t stopped craving it since Saturday. We were stuffed as the portions are very generous but after we knew how good the chef was we finished off with some desserts, sticky toffee pudding and an apple crumble - both were top class. Will be back soon!More

Came here for a celebration of life meal after my mums funeral. 14 of us enjoyed a meal cooked by Mark, bless him. The fish and chips were enormous and everyone commented how delicious the food was. John did everything to make us comfortable and provided...us with a private area in a sunlit room Such a warm and friendly pub, so nice to see the regulars enjoying a drink and a chat. Will definitely visit often.More

Such a friendly pub - Our running club, Cheshire Hash House Harriers, arranged to meet at The Vine for an evening run, after the run we all piled into the pub for a few drinks to rehydrate! The landlord was so accommodating and made us...all feel so welcome. A traditional pub - which is rare these day, open fire, good beer. We will definitely be back.More

Cozy pub really friendly staff, the roasts were quite average with dry meat. If stop again for a quick drink, but It's clearly a locals pub, one guy was so loud, stood up and ranting about there being too many visitors to the villagebeveryone could...hear him. Nice.More
