Not the cheapest pub in the world, but friendly staff ,good range of beers and restaurant quality food. Had the best liver and bacon I've eaten for years. We were told that there was a 30 min. wait for food (nice to know), which was true it looked good and tasted better. Will definitely return!.

Thank you for your good review on our pub. We aren't the cheapest but hope that your restaurant quality food and friendly staff justified this. So glad you enjoyed the liver and bacon and look forward to your return visit! Kind regards The Rupert team More

This a great pub with interesting little rooms and a good range of beers. The house pizzas beat anything else to be found in the town.

We treated the eldest child to a birthday (23) trip to Lincoln and took her here for lunch. We arrived at opening time so it was quiet, although a few other customers came while we were eating. We were greeted by a friendly chap on the bar who served us a couple of pints of excellent hand-pulled ale, and took... More

I was "playing tourist" in Newark today (18th February 2017) and the Tudor facade of the Prince Rupert caught my eye. The eclectic interior lived up to the promise of the historic exterior. I had ordered the "Prince Rupert" BLT ciabatta and a pint of "Cascade". I was told that there was a 40 minute wait on food, but my... More

We went to the Rupert on a busy Friday night, and managed to find a table for our 7 strong party. We ordered and were given a rough waiting time of 45 minutes, which was realistic. All food was great - fish & chips, venison ragu, cheese burger (which arrived without cheese, but this was soon rectified), and lamb's liver.... More

Great place to start an evening out in Newark with my other half, nice atmosphere around 5-7pm sat, good range of beer (moi) nice bottles of cider for the wife. Easy place to feel relaxed in and seemingly no "divs" present at all. Nice

Whilst visiting Newark thought we would try this pub for lunch. Fortunately we arrived earlyish and placed our order as shortly after we arrived several groups of office workers arrived and customers where being told there would be a 45 minute wait for any food orders. Some people left on being told this. Fine selection of ales on sale and... More
