We dined here last night with friends. We visit the Newark-on Trent area twice yearly and the Ruppert is always a go to place. They make pizza as good as it gets. The crust is paper thin and they offer close to two dozen toppings that one can choose from. They offer an early bird with two pizzas and a... More

The Prince is a great pub For a casual drink, a meal or a real session you can't go wrong and I have tried all types of visit. To be honest, it was about 2 years after the first visit that I even tried the food, I was sticking to beer and was never disappointed as they always have a... More

I didn't eat here, only went to drink with family on a small pub crawl. I was really impressed with the look of the building, it's stunning to look at and inside is full of character and has many traditional features like the wooden beams. There was a really nice selection of beers on offer and the staff seemed really... More

What an intriguing place. We had a good chat to the Landlady who was full of information and history on this old creeky place. Apparently there is a ghost!!!! Unfortunately there was a thief who entered this place recently and took away the historical memoir the landlady had put together - cannot be replaced because of original photos. Anyone coming... Had a bit of a reunion over lunch with friends after a 6 year gap and glad we did so at the Prince Rupert. Well kept beer in cozy surrounds was perfect. Our sammies were good and the chips even better. Could easily become our local in a town with numerous pubs if we did not live in Seattle.

Part of Civil war ale trail. Great range of real ales and offered a taster before choosing. Like a maze with little rooms all over the building. Would have been perfect with an open fire on though. Food looked good, but didn't eat. Smashing pub definitely return.

Went for a cycling club get together out of lycra for a change, food was brilliant. Was about 15 of us, all got hot food, no complaints. Waitress Sade was brilliant - always happy and looks after you very well. Cant do enough. Favourite place in Newark
