Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Table of 10 including 3 children at lunchtime. We all had a lovely meal, staff were attentive but not intrusive. Choice was interesting and whilst not the cheapest place felt we got excellent value for money.

What an experience, the food was amazing and the ingredients so cleverly put together. Chef Eric created the food for the wedding we attended at Chateau de Jalesnes so we had to go and eat in his restaurant, and boy it was worth it.

Seriously I’m still thinking about our dinner at L’Oree des Bois! Chef Eric Bichon is a amazing and his food was incredible and presented beautifully! If you are in The Loire please do yourself a favor and make an effort to eat at this restaurant...in the very small town of La Brielle-Les-Pins. We seriously had a wonderful food experience. I ate the duck pate and duck confit. My son swears it’s the best steak he ever had. My husband had the lamb two ways. It was true culinary perfection! Our waiter was wonderful! Looking forward to retuning very soon!More

This restaurant, which had been highly recommended to us, was exceptional, a gourmet's paradise. It is what gives French cuisine its well-deserved reputation as being the best in the world. I can't remember exactly what dishes the four in our party chose, but they were...all first-class, if a little Nouvelle Cuisine in terms of portion size, but supplemented by amuse-bouche and superb service. The meal wasn't cheap, but for food and service of that quality, you don't expect it to be.More

So declares each page of the menu … and I have no reason to doubt the claim. However deciding quantities of meat, fish, vegetables, etc. to purchase must be quite a challenge when the restaurant has so few diners (we enjoyed a very good mid-week...lunch, and there were only 5 other diners, though it is probably busier at a weekend). There is a choice of 3 set menus, at prices starting from €23.50 for three courses – very good value, and of course one can order a la carte. We enjoyed the flavours and presentation of each dish (the desserts were especially attractive and tasty) and our only criticism would be that the chicken dish was served on cold plates. The ambiance of the dining room is pleasant (rather like sitting inside a temperate glass house at a botanic gardens!) and the staff were attentive and helpful.More

A very good to enjoy local produce, well and carefully presented cooked. Sensible value, mid range for normal French prices, cheaper than the honey pots of Saumur. Worth a visit if you're in thsi part of the Loire region.

Since my last review, we have been back for a mid-day meal and recently for a superb evening meal with friends. Our rental guests also went 2 days later for Sunday lunch. Gold stars from everyone. The food is beautiful to look at and flavours...are very good. Coupled with friendly and caring staff, you can not fail to enjoy yourselves.More

Fresh vegetables, with flavour, beautifully prepared and a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Our first visit at lunch time and the perfect end to a busy week. First dined at this restaurant in early September 2012 and couldn't wait to return! We were not disappointed when we stayed overnight in May and had another excellent meal in the restaurant, with first class overnight accommodation and a classic French breakfast. Could not fault...either the restaurant or the hotel and the only disappointment was that journey times made it impossible for us to go back there on our returne the Uk from the Lot! A la prochaine!More

Chef Bichon, although hidden away in a small town on the banks of the Loire, is a culinary giant. Rarely have we had meals so full of flavor and so visually pleasing! Only a truly talented Chef can bring to the fore every drop of...flavor in his ingredients and blend them so very well. No novice, Chef Bichon regularly teaches international students from top cooking schools and deserves a higher rating than the one he currently enjoys. All ingredients are locally sourced from growers and farmers in the area and are of the highest quality. The wine list is small but with a very good selections of wines from the area that pair perfectly with the dishes offered. We were lucky being there during a quiet week as we were able to talk to both Chef Bichon and Sabine about the area in general and some points of interest. Service is relaxed-not fussy, adding to the pleasure of the meal. Treat yourself or someone else it is definitely worth the trip. I know we will return.More

We had not been to L'Orée des Bois for some years and can not think why! We've missed out! The 'new' restauranteurs are as good, if not better, than the previous ones from whom we had huge regard.Well worth a visit. Beautifully prepared dishes with...some original touches such as a delicious cream of mushroom soup served with the main course in a small bottle, plus straw, reminiscent of school days. However, nothing like school meals for sure.More
