Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I hate giving negative reviews, but I have given a positive review in the past, saying I would be coming back, The staff again were kind and thoughtful, but there was a bit of a wait, which as I was in no rush didn't worry...me. the problem was that the food was overcooked and dry on both my wife and my meal. I had the pork, which was shoulder as opposed to rib eye,( I am a butcher ) and the black pudding crumb was so overcooked that you could not even chew on it, My wifes chicken schnitzle was also overcooked and very dry as were her chips. This is a great shame as I feel that it is the pub that will lose out. I don't know if the kitchen were short of staff, or there were other problems, but they do need to be sorted out. I'm sorry again for the poor review, and I will come back, but perhaps at a later date.More

A beautifully decorated English pub with loads of charm and a very nice ambiance. The menu options were excellent with, reasonable prices. The food was absolutely superb, as was the service, (thanks to the smiling and friendly Chloe). I had the Steak & Ale Pie...followed by the Bread & Butter Pudding, and they were both delicious. I can highly recommended anyone to have a meal here, as my experience was top notch.More
