On this occasion, after a busy day of chores while out and about, I decided to reward myself with a coffee and almond croissant at Silo in Kingston. Top coffee and lusciously yummy almond croissant filled with a custard cream. Indulgent, but so worth it. Why not reward yourself? Silo has many tasty cakes, tarts and biscuits to enjoy with... Had the best lunch and coffee yesterday and back tomorrow for goodies to take home. We had a grain salad and some great stuffed zucchini flowers which were amazing. This was a daily special. The service was also spot on.

I have been coming to silo since it opened. It must be about 23yrs. The patisserie items on offer are always first class. Often they have a special but you will always find classics available. Their breakfast's are very good value and you can tell they use the best and freshest produce. Always interesting lunches available. But the big deal... More

We were told to visit the bakery, and we were not disappointed. Intimate, busy, great coffee, amazing selection of beautiful fruit tarts, small and large, great bread. We took away a large fruit flan, which we had for dinner that night. I have noted some people say it was expensive. The coffee, the food, and the experience was well worth... More

I lived in Kingston for years and Silo reminded me of a European cafe. Went back today and really disappointed. Had breakfast and at $18 for Eggs Florentine it was way overpriced for the average quality. Eggs were just not great poached eggs on tiny pieces of toast with a bit of watery spinach. Husbands Chorizo Omelet didn't looked real... More

After reading reviews that this was the place to come for great french style pastries and cakes, we visited on a Saturday morning and got a table straight away, albeit in the corridor. The place was buzzing and completely packed. The presentation of all the cakes and pastries were amazing. Juice was delicious, the ham and cheese croissant was as... More

Had brunch today with two friends who rave about Silo so I was really looking forward to finally eating there. Had a sensational omelette with chorizo and tomato. It was perfect and the toasted bread with it was great. Coffee was excellent (have found it hard to find extremely good coffee each time I visit CBR) and the service was... More

Silo is tucked away on the back end of Kingston shops, parking is easy. The coffee is served quick and is good quality, as is the large range of delicious pastries and cakes on offer. Service is good with a little bit of Canberra quirkiness from the staff, makes a pleasant experience. I'll visit again when next in Canberra.

Love this place for breakfast and pastries. Coffee great too. And the fresh baked bread is sublime. Becoming an institution in Kingston.
