My girlfriend and I with a couple of friend had dinner at the spice temple, first we seat down and got water, waiting for 1 friend we wanted to order cocktails but had to wait 15min to see a waiter, we order the banquet menu (100$) food was amazing. The service was a joke, food came out so fast that... More

This is a good restaurant, no question. Ambience, service and menu choice excellent. However....I took my wife, who is Chinese, and her comment is it's not "real" and very expensive compared to more authentic Chinese places in SYDNEY. Best example was tea smoked duck- nice but no cigar compared to a well known Szechuan chain. And when the bill came,... More

Great atmosphere in this hatted basement eatery. Expensive wine list, nothing under $100,atmosphere great and staff knowledgeable and attentive. Had to wait half an hour for table booking but restaurant was packed. Food excellent although some dishes like the numbing duck a little keen and could be more subtle Tuna entree delicious , chicken salad a touch heavy but dumplings... More

My first visit and was really looking forward to it based on word of mouth reviews from friends. I am a Neil Perry fan so know it must be very good and it didn't disappoint. Plenty of spice and chilli but nothing that burns your tonsils off. My favourite dish was Fish drowned in heaven facing chillies and Sichuan peppercorns... More

Yep that's right, said in a kindly way, but the message was clear, you three just cant keep up and now you need to make way for some one who might be up to the mighty challenge of the Spice Temple banquet. Uni friends in for a catch up, we had so much to laugh about and old time to... More

The mix of spices and selection of dishes ranging from the traditional to the exotic, left my palate happy. I felt like I needed to high five the chef after my meal. Absolutely incredible. If you like a variety of spices and like food a little on the spicy side, prepare to be amazed by the spice / food combinations.... More

Blick and you could miss this gem. Hidden underground, Neil Perry's restaurant service some of the best asian fare. Definitely order the specialty dish - Kowpung Chicken - absolutely yum. All the dishes we ordered were wonderfully flavoursome.

Busy restaurant (it was around Chinese New Year), but underground. Choice of food is different to standard Chinese - very tasty but not that spicy. Good range of drinks/wine to choose from.

It’s been about three weeks and we are still talking about this meal. We shared everything and it was perfect. It was a hard decision but we finally agreed on Fried Eggplant, Hot & Numbing Dry Wagyu Beef, and the Kung Pao Chicken. We also ordered the Hot & Numbing Pork but we stopped it mid way through our dinner... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
