This place is excellent for tea and scones! The service given is quick and very sweet! Welcoming and very forthcoming towards the guests. A wide range of teas as well as scones. The typical scone, which we had, was topp class. Together with a pot of English Breakfast Tea this was a great break in the middle of the markets... More

Afternoon tea in the Rocks and the lovely Tea Cosy Cafe, serving freshly made scones with a good choice of teas and jam. There is also a monthly "specials" on the scones in addition to the traditional plain scones. In addition, there is a Taster for Two with sandwiches and 4 scones. Friendly, quick service, great hot scones and lovely... More

We cruised around The Rocks Sunday market and then were treated to Devonshire Tea at the Tea Cosy in Sydney. The tea and scones were lovely, the jam and cream were delicious, and the atmosphere is so homey. I even knit a couple of rows while we waited, which wasn't long. It was such a charming experience - I highly... More

This was a welcome haven away from the hustle and bustle of The Rocks markets and a nice spot for a pot of tea. The service was a little disorganised but the owner did aim to please. It's a great concept, well placed amongst the heritage landmarks and if you like your tea, this venue won't disappoint. Imagine visiting your... More

We loved our visit to The Tea Cosy. We had an excellent afternoon tea: home made scones, cream and jam with a pot of tea - the best tea of our holiday. But what makes this place really special is its cosiness. Cosy wraps on all the chairs for if its chilly outside, rocking chairs, knitting, teapots everywhere. Delightful.

As soon as I walked past this place I was hooked. The table decorations are bowls with yarn and knitting needles and crochet and knitted blankets over the back of the chairs. Inside you are greeted by teapots covered with tea cosies of all designs. I was smitten with them. They don't offer a huge range of food but they... More

A lovely place. They offer scones and sandwiches as well as tea sets. The "Fig and Ginger" jam was extremely good. We end up buying a bottle to take home.

Traditional Tea cosy English lunch v the pub next door. We chose The Tea Cosy. After hesitating, and finding no juice available when ordering we went ahead anyway, ordered and stayed. We weren't disappointed. Savoury scones where the basis of the lunch food we ordered and were delicious, and all were very satisfied and pleasantly surprised by the presentation. A... More

Lovely quaint cafe for tea or coffee and delicious scones with a selection of jams and cream. Very popular. Also offer sandwiches and savory scones with salmon.

The Tea Cosy at the Rocks is such a warm, welcoming place that, if you spend more time in Sydney, you'll surely want to go back. Both sitting inside (which is like granny's living room) or outside watching the Market at the front or enjoying the green at the back will give you a great feeling. It's like being in... More

Staying in The Rocks

Neighbourhood Profile
The Rocks
The first residents of the Rocks were convicts and sailors from the old nation. As the oldest neighbourhood in the city, the area's cobblestone streets host more than 100 heritage sites and buildings, including the oldest house in Sydney, Camden Cottage, which was built in 1816. Taste a “midi “ or a “schooner” of beer and dine “al fresco” on the waterfront at some of the oldest pubs in Sydney. The weekend markets at the Rocks are where you can find local artists' hand-made souvenirs, organic food and designer jewelry in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. To enjoy some of the best Australian and international contemporary art, the MCA museum is open every day and select evenings. At the end of a long day of sightseeing, be sure to save energy to dance the night away at the area's many late night entertainment venues.
