This used to be an old favourite of mine when I lived nearby. I visited recently for the first time in a few years and it's still the same lovely venue with a fantastic wine selection and great atmosphere. The owners are friendly and take good care of their guests. Highly recommended.

Went here based on nearby restaurant's recommendation. Very cute hole in the wall style bar on a backstreet. Went at 6pm and it was easy to get a seat but was much busier when we left. Plenty of wines by the glass as well as beers and cocktails. Wines were very nice but overpriced, even for Sydney - 75ml-100ml pours... More

A great little hole-in-the-wall bar. Good lively atmosphere but way too dark for me to read the Wine list. Short list and not cheap but a great Grenache based rose accompanied some tasty washed rind cheeses and excellent smoked ocean trout (more creme fraiche please); good pre-dinner snacks that won't spoil your appetite - left me needing a meat pie... Came here on a Friday evening with my partner before a dinner reservation elsewhere. Nice little bar tucked away in Crown Lane. Friendly staff greeted us, quite busy in the front room but some free tables upstairs. We sat upstairs which had good vibes, decided on a cocktail rather than wine. Limited selection of cocktails, priced around the $20 mark... More

Stopped in for a pre dinner drink and my poor husband was served a pear cider that tasted like vinegar and then charged $25 for the privilege. Over priced and very poor quality. Won't be returning.

Love Tilly Devine must be one of Darlo's best kept secrets. Tucked away in Crown Lane. A very interesting yet not extensive wine list and flavourful food! Great service, too!

Look no further for that intimate after dinner bar. Great wine and funky cocktails in a cosy Darlinghurst / East Sydney location.

Dropped in for a after dinner cocktail and found this to be a little quirky place. Quite a few people in the bar and the waitress was full of interesting stories about Tilly Devine. Great little spot.

We came here last night, a group of girls and had an truly fantastic evening. The sommelier was helpful and recommended us many different glasses of wine. She was informative but we never felt spoken down to, as we don't really know alot about wine. She even opened a few bottles that were not normally by the glass. This extra... More

The wine list is an education and the bar staff excellent. The food is also amazing. Don't miss this spot!!! We tried an orange wine and white port cocktail before dinner, an excellent petit Verdot with the lamb. It might b a wine bar but the food is also sensational!!

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
