Knowing this place has 1 hat under its belt, I have always wanted to dine here. Finally I did yesterday & must say I left underwhelmed. Atmosphere & service are good but not over the top. The menu does sound interesting but the food itself is average, truly average. There is no WOW factor in all dishes we ordered. Won't... More

My friend and I were looking for somewhere to have a cheap greek dinner on a Sunday evening near to my hotel in the CBD. We settled on this restaurant. Although not cheap at all, we soon got over this as the food, ambience, staff and service were all excellent.... oh and the wine was amazing too. It was probably... More

When we arrived staff at the front desk seemed uninterested and looked like they were more interested in their social lives than the customers. Food was okay but the chicken was dry. I've been here a few times and the chicken is consistently dry. Greek salad had a huge slab of feta covering a floury assortment of tomatoes. Dips were... More

Came here for dinner. Superb food but waiting staff either absent minded or not listening. Ordered a salad with our main and coffee and tea with dessert, neither of which arrived. Fortunately not on the bill but still a disappointment to an otherwise excellent meal.

Had great service, delicious food and super atmosphere! Not cheap, up sold on booze (deliciously though) and a lovely surprise of a dessert for our anniversary. Great job, we'll be back Alpha!!! #nailedit

One of my fav Greek restaurants in Sydney! Didn't rate Greek food too much before I ate at Alpha... but wow once you have eaten here Greek food elsewhere can't compare!

The kids gave us a voucher for xmass and must say upon arrival we were blown away. The fit out was like being in Athens. When it came to the food it was upsetting as they tried to bring a modern spin on old fashioned Greek food, and it was like being in Marrickville. Not a good idea. When I... More

Stumbled into Alpha on a colleagues recommendation - next time I'll plan to visit. Modern Greek, and everything on the menu sounded amazing. We shared our dishes to enjoy as many tastes as we could and left full, happy and having eaten fresh ingredients, deceptively simple on the plate but packing a whole bag of flavour and beautifully presented. The... More

We arrived at alpha after agreeing they were a great option on trip advisor for our group We arrived without a booking so it took a bit of coaxing to get a table. The announcement was made by the waiter as we walked into the restaurant "6 walk ins". It was like annoucing the lepers were here. There were at... More

Most dishes are for two people so be aware to find a friend. The staff were great in making suggestions on the menu so I would only gain 5 not 10lbs as I was eating alone. Really though, you have to visit if you are in Sydney, it was so good; the taramasalata was amazing, the red snapper just perfect... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
