The Fortune Village is a contemporary and modern twist on classic Chinese cooking. With traditional dishes cooked to cater for those who are used to eating more westernised Chinese cuisine. I couldn't fault anything about the meal, it was all gorgeous, even down to the Deluxe Fried Rice! San choi bow (Yuk Sung) was beautiful along with the spring rolls.... More

Was walking past this place and read the menu. Decided we would go back for a feed after a couple of drinks at the Redoak The service was just right and the food was great. We read that the same family has had it forever. We often have Thai as the Chinese seems heavy. The Fortune food was so light... More

What can I say been there a few previously and we are never disappointed Food is traditionally Chinese mainland and Hong Kong I believe and it's flavorsome, fresh and good portions Service is attentive but not intrusive The host Simon is fantastic on the floor coming from years of experience "I will be back"

Dropped in for a Monday night dinner and was immediately greeted by the very affable host. I asked him to select a dish for me and the Chicken with Tamarind and fried rice was outstanding. I'll definitely be back.

Could not believe how this restaurant was so far from expectations. First they made it difficult for us too book and it was almost empty. Then everything was awful. Arrogant manager, mixed our orders, bad food... I just wonder where does its rating come from!

Dear "pr0la", Apologies for not meeting up to your expectations. Unfortunately, Im not sure how the booking procedure was made difficult for you. There are a number of ways we receive reservations, some through 3rd party booking companies, so I'm unable to respond to your comment without more details. We did have difficulty serving your table, as I do think... More

We went as a family for an early evening meal on a Monday night and we're lucky enough to get a table. Food was very good and service very attentive thanks to Simon and his staff. Try the soup dumplings! Only issue was at the end where a dish we had ordered turned up after the rest of the food... More

TripAdvisor says this is the highest rating Chinese restaurant in the Sydney CBD. Well its oldstyle but modern nevertheless. The owner is Simon who's dad originally opened the place across the road decades ago to establish the cooking dynasty. Its an easy place to eat, staff are extremely friendly and food quality very good. It pursues the more traditional presentation... More

Yes, we aren't the modern more trendy restaurant as you described, we are just like your "local" Chinese restaurant but we want to be a "cut above" offering good friendly service with classical dishes along side dishes with...
