Seriously, it amazes me thay this place gets any good reviews at all. Basically a combination of slimy tofu and McCains-esque freeze pack vegetables. I'm certain any of the numerous surrounding restaurants would have been a better choice than this. Don't waste your time.

I am not vegan or vegetarian and I only dined at Mother Chu's because I was meeting up with a vegan friend. We found that the menu was essentially vegan, as it was totally dairy free and the only non-vegan options were a couple of vegetable dishes served with a honey sauce. That said, the meals were tasty and reasonably... More

We (2 adults, 2 teens) had an early dinner at this restaurant on a Saturday night prior to seeing at show at the Capitol Theatre. We rocked up without a booking as it was just a few doors from our accommodation at Rydges World Square (which incidentally we were very happy with, if you're looking for family accommodation in that... Very interesting vegetarian meals - lots of variety which is unusual for vegetarians. Make sure you know how to use chopsticks before going here.

We went for a quick vegan-friendly dinner before an evening function - the place was half empty and we were served very quickly. We ordered salt and chilli tofu and spicy eggplant and tofu nuggets. The food was good, but not great, and I feel like it could have been better with a little more care: finely chopped chilli rather... More

Came here on a Saturday night with my boyfriend. The place was packed, dingy, and the service was slow. We ordered 3 dishes - the spicy miso eggplant, pop soy with black pepper sauce, and fried tofu. All were pricey and not anything like we expected. The eggplant was mushy and the dish was not spicy with miso as the... More

What a busy delightful place to enjoy vegetarian food. We arrived with out a booking on a busy night and still only had to wait half an hour. The variety is amazing, and it's virtually vegan with only a few dishes that use honey. The service was timely and friendly. We would certainly dine here again. So close to central... More

Nice and affordable food! I had the Sizzling Tempeh dish and it was quite nice. Staff were friendly and efficient. I would go back when in Sydney next.

Every now and then it's good to go vegetarian if you're a carnivore like me. So Mother Chu's is a great option. Food is really good solid asian/Chinese style. Servings are ample and generous, and the service was quick and friendly. Obviously a family owned and run establishment-but a really nice homey, comfortable feel. It's a no frills establishment- but... More

Attentive staff, with a wide range of vegetarian options, this was a perfect dinner choice for us when meeting friends. We each ordered a dish and shared and there was plenty of food for all - portion size was adequate. The food was tasty, fresh and we all enjoyed our meals.
