The food was good quality and the service was quick, so I really can't fault those elements, and overall we had a good experience. A few things let the place down. Firstly, the use of single-use snap-open bamboo chopsticks. It felt cheap. Secondly, the stinginess with cutlery and napkins. A serviette for each person wouldn't have gone astray, neither would... My partner took me here for V-Day dinner and it was nothing less than perfection! A little pricey at $130pp but for 12 course degustation you can understand why! Every item no matter how small was packed with incredible flavours and all the seafood was so fresh. Hats off to the chefs but also the bar men, cocktails were nothing... More

I just to love this place. A year ago it was amazing. But it's been going down, it's like they don't care anymore cause they have the good review online. Hopefully I won't last long cause they need to take care of their service. The food is still good but the waitresses are the worst! We waited 40 minutes for... More

Came here for a group work dinner. Our menu had been preset but I left feeling full and very happy. Started with more traditional Japanese. Oysters,Sashimi, Sushi, Gyozi - all delicious, fresh and presented beautifully. We then moved onto tempura stuffed zucchini flowers, sesame beef and fish. The fish, which had the most amazing tahini based sauce on the side,... More

Came back as the first time we came as outstanding. Sat at the bar. Enjoyed the view with all the plates getting sent out. Overall food is lovely. Bit of a hit and miss with the beef as the second plate we got was actually bitter. Morton Bay bugs fried in batter was like your norm fish and chips. Dish... More

It has been a while since I went to Toko and I enjoyed the same excellent experience as I did some years back. The staff were courteous, attentive and interactive. The food was fresh, had taste and great mouth feel. I asked about a sake to compliment to food choices and the waiting staff listened to my preferences and helped... More

A really nice venue. A bit inconvenient that they wouldn't take a diiner reservation, but so be it. The service is proffessional, but not overly friendly. The food is outstanding. We opted for the degustation menu and we pleasantly surprised with the well balanced flavour and presentation. Fantastic japanese food in Sydney. Would I come back again? Probably, But there... We are regulars of Toko but on Saturday night we had an early dinner and at 8 pm got asked to leave so they could turnover the table. Three of us spent $350 and were looking to have dessert and coffee but were forced to leave to accomodate other guests. The frustration of this is that they don't take bookings... More

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I rarely give 5 stars but the degustation dinner menu was so perfect, amazing flavours & high quality food. You can't book for dinner & we quickly got a seat at the bar facing the kitchen which worked out well. Service was friendly & attentive. I highly recommend the $95 pp degustation... More
