Had a nice meal here of barramundi, rock oysters and a bottle of mid-priced white wine. Nice service, the food was good and well prepared and then I was brought the bill. Be prepared.

We dropped in for snacks before an early performance at the Opera House. Can't beat the location - right on Circular Quay a minute or two from the Opera House. But the convenience comes at a steep cost. The calamari was quite good, though only about a 3 oz. portion for $24. Lemonade was $5 for something that was basically... More

Had reservations but couldn't stay because of rain and wind. Didn't realize no indoor seating. This place is in an overpriced part of the city with bridge but not opera house view as I've seen in pics.

Wanting to show off Sydney Harbour to international guests, I chose to book dinner at Sydney Harbour Oyster Cove. On my booking form, I asked for a table close to the water's edge. Given that the booking was made less than two days before we went, I didn't have high hopes but on arrival, even though the restaurant was very... More

This restaurant is right out on the harbor, with spectacular views. All the seating is outdoors so you are right in it. With views this impressive and tourists aplenty, there is no reason why the food shd be this good, but it definitely was first rate. Fresh fish all round, well prepared and interesting paired with side salads. The treatment... More

We're born & bred Sydney-siders and love the Oyster Bar! We catch the Ferry here across the harbour - a wonderful way to arrive at The Quay. Each time we dine here we marvel how we are surrounded by the glorious harbour and have an amazing view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge & iconic Opera House!! The menu is varied... More

We had a birthday party here and it did the trick making for a very special occasion. The view of course is what really sets this place apart from any other eating-place. You just cannot beat sitting beside the water, watching the harbour ferries move in and out, the harbour bridge and the opera house as well. All of this... More

Imagine a sunny afternoon on Circular Quay. No wind, just a slight cool breeze. Hundreds of people milling about, most tables at ll the venues taken. We stopped at the Oyster Bar around 2.oo in the afternoon just for a drink and a chat with friends from England just passing through. the Oyster Bar has been a favourite watering hole... More

My husband always make the effort to go to Oyster Bar every trip to Sydney. The scenery is the best in the world. Their Seafood is always fresh and an amazing selection. Priced well and a great wine list. We will continue to go back again and again.

What an extraordinary location on the harbor with the best views of the Bridge and Opera House. Better make reservations in the evening...it gets crowded...Local seafood, awesome drinks and friendly, attentive service make this a fantastic spot to enjoy an evening in Sydney. The oysters are among the freshest and best. Fish and chips are hard to beat. A must... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
The Sydney Central Business District is abuzz with energy. Power brokers run to and from high rise buildings and after-work drink places, high-end shoppers tour venues like the QVB, and fine diners frequent the many celebrity chef restaurants. For a dose of culture, walk to the NSW Art Gallery, or visit the Sydney Museum. To escape the hustle and bustle, reconnect with nature at the Sydney Botanical Gardens or picnic lunch at High Park. No matter your interest, be sure to check the full calendar of events hosted by the city, from the Sydney Festival in January to October’s Good Food Month at Hyde Park.
