A fairly large, but simple place. A lot of menu items feature pork, but there are usually chicken or vegetarian options. There are also a few beef items. I had the sukiyaki beef don. Quite possibly the tastiest I've had, and great value.

I love Ichiban. Its one of my favourite Japanese restaurants in Sydney. Don't expect to be fussed over, this place is about serving you authentic Japanese food for cheap prices. Try the chicken karage set or the Ramen soups.

The ramen is true to the Japanese style. Portions are good, food is tasty and flavourful. Can be busy at peak hours but I think the wait was well worth it.

Noodles were a nice texture. Chicken was delicious but such a small portion. Soup was delicious but on the salty side. Overall: not bad but not spectacular.
