Thank you to the table of 20 who cancelled their reservation so that my niece could celebrate her 18th birthday here after the other restaurant failed to deliver our reservation.. We were a large group of 22, 9 of us had the Saigon banquet for $55... the food did not stop! Each dish delicious. Special mention to the chilli squid... More

Came here last year with my husband and enjoy every bit of it. We loved the pork belly as it was so tender and the sauce was just heavenly. The desert was very nice as well. Price is reasonable. The lady owner was very welcoming and made sure our food was amazing.

Ate here a couple of times with a group of eight, first time a la carte and second on. Tuesday evening for the fixed price ($45) degustation. Both times times the food was excellent Pork, Soft shell Crab, and Pho were standouts. A good wine list but the BYO option makes this outstanding value.

Met friends at this cool eatery and was not disappointed. Extensive menu with flavoursome food. We had the spring rolls, tenderloin beef wraps and the duck pate for entree. All were fresh. Our mains included a chicken curry. An amazing pork belly with the best hot spice sauce. Really worth a visit. Prices are a little higher than the average... More

We recently dined at La Mint, following previous memorable visits and were delighted with the attention from friendly staff, particularly from the maitre d', Leanne. The menu is varied and our meals were delicious. La Mint is also a rarity inasmuch you can speak to one another without having to shout to be heard.

I visited La Mint on recommendation of a friend. This is an amazing place with very reasonable prices. You absolutely must try the scallops and La Mint specialty - pancake from the entree menu. There are many dishes it is hard to go past but those are a must if you only have 2-4 people. For the main you can... More

I just returned from Vietnam 2 weeks ago to Sydney, and because Vietnam was still on my mind, my brain was still tuned to all things Vietnamese. That is how I discovered La Mint! Nested on a quiet corner of Riley street, next to the new Red Lantern restaurant, it is a French -Vietnamese restaurant that was founded by a... More

Don't be fooled by the dated decor. The food is tasty and there are a couple of successful unusual combination of flavored. We were a group of eight and ordered the banquet menu. If you eat everything and don't want to be bothered ordering a la carte, then go for the $65 banquet.

Four of us went. Seafood baby barramundi and chilli squid/soft crab were enormous but the flavour disappointed our seafood aficionado. Pancake was different but a bit bland and chateaubriand for one was unusual, but disappointing presentation as 2 lumps of steak on a plate (rather than sliced) and too dry. Needed more jus and moist cooking. But then the pate... More

Staying in Darlinghurst

Neighbourhood Profile
Darlinghurst
Home of the small bar revolution in Sydney, Darlinghurst has more bars per capita than any other suburb. Themes range from American whiskey bars and 1950’s theme bars to hidden bars requiring secret passwords. Oxford Street is the "Gay Capital" of Australia, where gay and lesbian-friendly venues feature “diva shows” and dancing until the morning. Vintage lovers flock to Crown Street, and small designer boutiques can be found along Victoria and Bourke Streets. Dining in Darlinghurst is a gastronomic adventure. Food from all over the world is on the menu, from American ribs to tapas, sushi to gelato and every ethnicity in between.
