A chinese friend brought me here and ordered everything for us (party of 4.) Everything was so so tasty. The decor is dated, but i feel like it adds to the charm of the place. Very nice quiet place to have a couple cold beers and some proper spicey food. Very reasonably priced, especially considering the area it is located... More

This place is very good if you like the hot and spicy Chinese food. Unlike many Chinese restaurant, Hunan's has a very unique taste and really prepares some of the most authentical Chinese food I have ever seen in Australia. In the past one of my friends from Wuhan take me here and she said it is top quality. I... More

Should of guessed that this place was no good by the lack of diners! Ordered sweet and sour pork of the specials menu and what I got was a pile of re-heated rice soaked in what tasted like liquid soap with a few prices of raw carrot and onion in there. Needed a hacksaw to cut the pork.. Vile, overpriced... More

I usually find the best in where we eat out and sometimes a restaurant can have an off night but not in this case, its now happened twice. The service is slow, the restaurant needs a good clean and the food is way to oily. Sorry guys not the best place to eat.

This Chinese restaurant in the Valley is large and spacious, never busy. The traditional Chinese style décor is old and the aged plastic tablecloths are dirty with years of ingrained grime. But don't be fooled by this. The food is delicious and contains a good quantity of vegetables and nicely cooked tender meat. You know it is freshly prepared as... More

I was looking for a restaurant in Chinatown and I passed many busy, hip restaurants. Then I passed Hunan at the end of the street and it was pretty-much empty. "Well," I thought, "at least I'll get good service!" And I did. I had the Mongolian Beef on Rice, with a pot of tea for $12. It was quite yummy.... More

The decor is old, damaged and mismatched. Half the lights weren't working and the room was (unpleasantly dim). The walls were filthy and streaked with food (?). And at one point a cockroach joined me at the table. The food was oily and left an unpleasant residue in my mouth. The beer was good - but not cold enough. Just... More

We chose this restaurant for a Sunday brunch after wandering through China Town. The only reason we chose it was because it had tables outside in the sun. But of all the restaurants in Chinatown, we must have chosen the worst. If only we had been able to see the other review, we certainly wouldn't have stopped. In fact, we... More

We bought Chinese takeaway from Golden Palace and it was the absolute worst ever. I asked to order off the normal menu and was told I had to order off a blackboard. The lemon chicken was balls of batter with miniscule piece of meat in each and a bright red colour sauce (not even lemon. The sweet and sour pork... More
