So whether I give it a three or four probably depends on what you're going there for. I went for a 4 because it clearly says it is a German club - so oompah music comes with that. A bit of more modern stuff thrown in but oompah is there. It is live music. It is set up as you... More

Most enjoyable lunch, quaint and friendly and a bit of old German style decor. Food is kind of traditional home style and delicious. Can I rate the bar a 10? An all German affair with too many beers to try in one sitting. Just awesome.

Having had a most memorable lunch at 'Haxnbauer' in Munich, we doubted that we would ever have a perfect pork knuckle again. Well, it was found at the German Club. The meat was suculent and the crackling was crackling and the serving sizeable! There was genuine sauerkraut and good red cabbage as sides. No room for dessert, unfortunately, as strudel... More

Scratching our. heads wondering where to go on a Friday afternoon in Brisbane after work. Some one suggested the German Club opposite the Gabba. I've been there a few times before and I am actually a member, however I think I can be critical. To be honest I would challenge any other establishment in the country to have the same... More

We have been here a few times for dinner and it's alway delicious. The pork belly is AMAZING (best I've had) and the pretzels are great as entrees. The pork knuckle is also delicious but massive so avoid that unless you have a big appetite! Service is fast despite the place always being busy. The hall out the back has... More

Food was great, massive though. Beer selection is brilliant. But the music... stick w German songs please, on a level where people might hear other, or give the man more to drink before he plays!

I have been there twice in the last month- once to the beer hall for an 18th birthday dinner and second time we hired one of the private rooms for an 80th birthday party. After living in Brisbane for over 20 years I am now disappointed I had not discovered this club before. The prices are so reasonable both for... More

Went to the German Club for a lunch function with work and it was a set lunch buffet. Food was OK, nothing to complain about - it is what it is - sauerkraut, sausages - all pretty good but very heavy. The beer however is really amazing here. They have an especially huge selection of beers, especially German beers (obviously)... More
