This place was a firm favourite of mine when I lived in Port Douglas eons ago and it's reassuring to see that after all that time On The Inlet has still retained those wonderful aspects - great service and great food. You simply can't beat the view - sitting on the deck overlooking the inlet and the mangroves across the... More

A nice waterfront restaurant, so don't let the outside fool you. We had great service and the our meals we really nice. They were very quick, thou the place wasn't busy. I had pepper and chilli salt squid salad and the rest on the table had the bucket of prawns . 350 gms of fresh caught prawns, which they enjoyed.... More

The service was great, but the food was pretty forgettable. The oysters were a little bit under-cooked for kilpatrick style oysters. The pork belly wasn't very nice either. The wine list was generic but the cocktails were ok. The chili crab was definitely enjoyable though!

Had a front row balcony table on a stormy night and watched the lighting crack over the ocean whilst we were treated to true restaurant service. Our waiter really knew his stuff. Had the best garlic bread in years, great oysters, sensational painted crayfish and coral trout. Fed the fish below whilst we ate. Bookings are essential, this is one... More

What an experience! We had the perfect night to see George the groper while sharing a bottle of wine and a bucket of prawns. We even got to see a storm coming from the distance and pass over us. Thoroughly enjoyable.

We loved this restaurant, stumbled across it and went back three times. Enjoyed everything from the bucket of prawns, romantic evening meal and especially the Gropher feeding. The fish was fresh and perfectly cooked, most beautiful view so relaxing watching the boats and wildlife. Staff were welcoming and happy to recommend items from the menu. We absolutely loved the whole... More

We went here twice....and would have gone more if we could. The calamari and Asian Slaw was awesome as was the whole fried fish. Yum, yum, yum. Staff were super prompt, attentive and knowledgable. One of us was Gluten & Dairy free and they were great with offering menu selections that were still super yummy.

We ordered the seafood platter which consisted of many items from a dozen raw oysters, mussels, huge lobster pieces, shrimps, small crabs (called "bugs") and highlighted by a “mud crab” (which reminded me of a Dungeness crab), served over a very nice, Thai tomato-based sauce. In addition, there was salmon and tuna sashimi, a fine salad, and wonderfully cooked chips (i.e.,... More

Pros We had the calamari and Cajun prawn. They were great. Atmosphere is great, it was only out doors though. But there were no flies or other bugs. Cons Price was high, but at par with other restaurants on the area, but smaller portions. Busy place and the service was a little slow.
